This is one of the best books I have ever seen for parents of young children. It's an informed collection of recommended book summaries, craft projects, and recipes to make with children. The book is divided into chapters covering everything from boosting self-esteem to expressing feelings, coping with fears, mastering skills, and so on. Each chapter includes many recommended books -- and why they're good for the chapter topic -- along with a craft and cooking project for each recommended book. It's actually more than a book -- it's a resource for parents who want to make sure that the time they spend with their precious little ones is valuable and helps develop character and emotional strength. I can see how this would be an incredibly thoughtful (and welcome!) baby shower/birth/new parent holiday gift. It's helpful, unique, and special.

Author and educator Vivian Kirkfield's Show Me How! provides young parents and preschool/childcare facilitators with a fun-filled and practical resource. It's all right here--learning plans that include wonderful story time recommendations, eco-friendly crafts and smart and healthy cooking plans for little hands. A delightful book that belongs in your library. I can't wait for Kirkfield's next book!
