Rich Hall is pure comic genius!! Now that it is out of print, I'm going to laminate every page of my copy. How I will resist the temptation to share this with my friends and risk not getting it back, I do not know, my friend.

Hall provides a tongue-in-cheek approach to the self-help genre by theorizing that life rides on four tires: love, career, mental-physical, and spiritual. Packed with amusing insights and helpful "tips for the day" (e.g. if you like to speed, get a license plate with the word "void" on it, so that when you get a speeding ticket...), this book is guaranteed to make you laugh 'til you cry.

Rich Hall's book will get you rolling out of the rut on all four wheels. Hilarious daily advice.

Ah I miss seeing Rich Hall around, and am sorry to see that this book is out of print. Hall was close enough to huge at one point, and that's because he's funny as hell. He's able to come up with great gags and deliver them perfectly. Some of the short pieces in this book are just so perfectly written that they're a marvel. When this book came out I showed it to my coworkers and they couldn't get enough of it. We were laughing hard enough to reach the wheezing stage, and marveling at how Hall came up with so much great stuff. To say the least, Self Help for the Bleak is highly recommended.
