This book quickly pinpoints trouble spots that any average PC user may run into. The author's personal style of solving a problem makes the text very user-friendly. For example, I occasionally am most annoyed by suddenly having my re-typing of a word deleting others. I found this problem solved in Section #45== "You may be tapping on a key without realizing you are executing a command--it's like chewing on a pencil or drumming your fingers. I had pressed a key unknowingly and each subsequent word I type deletes the previous one. Very annoying! One day I pressed the Shift Key five times, and a window popped up." In the text is a view of this window "Sticky Keys" and the author notes-- "Just click on the Go to the Ease of Access Center to disable the keyboard shortcut."

Many other examples like this are clearly and briefly given, so that the title of the text is apt! I haven't gotten to the last sections, about adding memory or changing the hard drive, but the author gives good illustrations and makes it sound easy, even for me, an amateur stay-at-home tech person. The Table of Contents lets a reader zoom directly to whatever problem has reared its ugly head, and the illustrations are very helpful. Probably a person who is experienced with computers wouldn't find much new in this book, but for newbies like me, it's most useful.
