— Emma Bragdon, Ph.D., author of Resources for Extraordinary Healing

“While pioneering psychologist Sigmund Freud is said to have chiefly concerned himself with the negative and destructive habits of the subliminal self—“the rats and beetles in the cellarage,” as Aldous Huxley referred to it— Frederic W. H. Myers, another pioneer of the subliminal, was more focused on the hidden or buried treasures ignored by Freud. Eldon Taylor continues in the tradition of Myers, searching below the threshold of consciousness for meaningful processes and powers that enrich our lives and give purpose to them.”
— Michael Tymn, author of The Afterlife Revealed

“Eldon Taylor’s penetrating approach to hypnosis and the mind skips the nonsense and gets to the bottom line of making your life better, right now. If you know what you want, feel ready for change, or sense there is a repeating cycle in the works, this is the workbook that can change your life.”
— Gillian Holloway, Ph.D., author of The Complete Dream Book

More About the Author

Eldon Taylor is an award winning, New York Times best selling author of over 300 books, and audio and video programs. He is the inventor of the patented InnerTalk technology and the founder and President of Progressive Awareness Research. He has been called a "master of the mind" and has appeared as an expert witness on both hypnosis and subliminal communication.

Eldon's Father was in law enforcement for most of his life and for many years Eldon himself was a practicing criminalist conducting investigations and lie detection examinations. His hobby for over 30 years has been horses and at one time he owned a large all-breed stallion station and racing stable. His down to earth common-sense pragmatism combined with his intellectual interests have led some to identify him as the "blue-collar progressive traditionalist." Eldon is listed in more than a dozen Who's Who publications including Who's Who In Intellectuals and Who's Who In Science and Engineering. He is a Fellow in the American Psychotherapy Association and an internationally sought after speaker. His books and audio/video materials have been translated into more than a dozen languages and have sold millions worldwide.

Eldon is the host of the popular radio show, Provocative Enlightenment. He has interviewed some of the most interesting people on the planet including the likes of JZ Knight (Ramtha), George Noory, Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, Lorna Byrne, Neale Donald Walsch, Dr. Jose Arguelles, William Paul Young, Lynne McTaggart, Don Miguel Ruiz, Debbie Ford, Nick Begich, Harv Eker, Gregg Braden, David Hawkins, James Twyman, Hossca Harrison, and Glynis McCants just to name a few. His shows are both provocative and always fresh by way of both the perspective and the exchange.

Yet I didn't fully understand how subliminal technology and self-hypnosis worked until I read Eldon Taylor's excellent book to prepare for a radio interview with him.

As a major skeptic regarding hypnosis, I always thought it was either an evil mind-control game or a complete hoax intended only to entertain. However, I chose to keep an open mind and see what I could learn while reading.

In "Self-Hypnosis and Subliminal Technology", Eldon Taylor explains hypnosis in two ways. 1) In detail for the scientific minded or those who need proof, and 2) in simple terms for those who just want the nutshell version of "what can it do for me?"

With what Eldon shares in the book and the six accompanying audio tracks, my mind is definitely changed. It's clear that hypnosis is neither evil mind control nor a hoax.

Taylor gives you the tools and techniques to enter into a deep peaceful relaxation (aka hypnosis) so your subconscious mind can take care of what your conscious mind hasn't. As he explains, you are always in complete control.

He also shares the power of subliminal programming that inundates our minds through every kind of audio and visual media (including certain kinds of music)...most of which is negative and/or controlling. He then teaches you how to use positive subliminal messages in a way that will only improve your life.

Both are effective in a very positive way if you choose for them to be. I'm already experiencing positive results and I invite you to give yourself the opportunity to do the same!

I had the privilege of reviewing Eldon Taylor's new workbook Self-Hypnosis and Subliminal Technology and working with the recordings that come as part of the package. As a hypnotherapist of twenty years, I can say that this is the best I have found - anywhere. I have read most books on self hypnosis, trying to find something I could recommend to my clients and to those who visit The Self Improvement Blog. Most of them make it far too difficult. With Taylor's instructions and the recordings to reinforce the practice, anyone - yes, I mean anyone - can master the technique. Further, I have stayed away from subliminals because, understanding their power, I wanted to be absolutely sure they were what they claimed to be before I recommended them. I feel confident in recommending InnerTalk's subliminals to everyone, knowing that Eldon Taylor has filled the gap providing high quality, trustworthy, dynamic material. Irene Conlan, MSN, PhD, CHt.

Truly disappointing. I am familiar with Eldon Taylor from other material in particular his book "Mind Programming", which I liked. So I was positively biased towards him or his work. Well I was in for a surprise, like a cold shower. In a nutshell his new book is a complete waste of time and money. Eldon obviously just focuses on cheap marketing and wants to get paid for it. The contents is just talking about his work and giving hints to his products. And very, very little instructions on how to help yourself. A simple and unfortunately very typical marketing "con". You can easily find the information he provides in this book on the web without wasting any money. He does not deliver any value and like in my case he drives away people who respected and valued his earlier work. I would give zero or even negative stars if I could!

I liked the general approach of this book: teaching the reader to develop his/her own self-hypnosis programs. There are many books out there on hypnosis and self-hypnosis, but few list the simple steps involved in creating your own program. I have found self-hypnosis in general to be extremely effective both for relaxing and for healing, so when I heard that a book had recently been published teaching people to optimize their self-hypnosis programs, I was quite interested.

The second half of the book discusses subliminal technology and the development of subliminal message programs for personal use. What I found fascinating was how many people doubt the effect of subliminal messages, yet the author witnessed an incredible amount of resistance from representatives of various businesses when his local government officials attempted to pass legislation requiring notification of subliminal material prior to subjecting the public to it.

This book is a great read for anyone interested in self-hypnosis. Like many books these days, it is written in a conversational tone. I briefly listened to the accompanying CD and the recordings were professionally done.

I always try to find something I dislike about a book when my overall review is positive, and I suppose for this title I would have liked to have seen the author go into more depth on self-hypnosis and perhaps save the subliminal technology chapters for a different book. I think more examples of self-hypnosis programs and techniques would have been helpful for readers to perfect the skill of creating their own programs. Like anything else people create, self-hypnosis programs are an art, and I think the author could provide keen insight on some of the intricacies.

I received Eldon Taylor's new book, Self-Hypnosis And Subliminal Technology: A How-to Guide for Personal-Empowerment Tools You Can Use Anywhere!, free from Hay House Publishing for review purposes a few weeks ago, due to my desire to learn more about the subject of hypnosis.

Part 1 of the book covers the reasons behind why we tend to think and behave in certain ways, and how our minds and thus our choices are manipulated by certain others. This information was eye opening to say the least!

In Part 2, common misperceptions about hypnosis and its processes, as well as the unlimited ways it can be applied--such as quitting smoking or becoming a better athlete--are covered. Also included are short self-hypnosis exercises featuring transcripts from the CD that accompanies the book.

Part 3 delves into the subject of subliminal technology and how it has, and is still being used to manipulate the public. Some of the cases the author discusses are truly disturbing. On the other hand, subliminal communication has been proven to be a powerful tool in assisting individuals overcome their negative self-talk.

The CD that came with the book was a bit jarring, and not as comprehensive as Eldon Taylor's InnerTalk programs, which can be downloaded from his website. Overall, this was a fascinating read that gave me a better understanding of how the mind works, and the science behind it.
