Often in self-help books utility and inspiration are mismatched. You either leave the read full of inspiration with no clear next steps or you have too much information with no hope of achievement. Well not in this case, the title and theme alone allow you to honor and revel in your femininity and feel powerful. The author was creative and provided an easy read with tangible how-to examples and moments. The whimsical picture was set from beginning to end while highlighting her steps and struggles though the process. The author does not mislead you but rather her honesty helps you to visualize and embrace the true obstacles that lie ahead. While the struggles are clear, the rewards appear realistic and achievable..."Success in self-publishing will take you out of the ranks of undesirable and unknown." Finally, a real strength of humor and helpfulness makes this a great self-help book. As someone who has never had a real interest in self-publishing the insights left me with a genuine sense of something that I too can and may do one day.

This book is an amazing resource! She covers a broad range of areas within the publishing world. It is clear she conducted extensive research in the field. The book is an easy read from start to finish...the humorous and creative language keeps the reader engaged and entertained. She speaks from personal experience as she provides insight into her challenges and successes as an author and self-publisher. I felt like she was a good friend, trusted mentor, paid adviser bestowing me with invaluable information and leading me through the arduous task of self-publishing. She has a "no holds barred" approach to the vices that hinder our ability, as women to succeed, i.e., procrastination, poor planning, fear, disorganization, etc. She is honest in sharing her personal struggles and encourages the reader to avoid the pitfalls in publishing. The tips and advice are helpful and practical. Both a novice and an expert can benefit from this book. As a novice to the publishing world, I finished reading the book and thought "I'm ready!" I am now highly motivated to complete several of my manuscripts and I feel competent that I can venture into the world of self-publishing. This book has been a major impetus and I am sure it will have a similar effect on other readers, especially women!

I received this book as a gift from my husband. People would often tell me that I needed to write a book, but with all of my daily obligations I couldn't grasp how to make it possible. When my husband presented me with this book, I was immediately sold on the title alone. I love shoes!!
This book got me excited in the first chapter. I love the author's tips on prioritizing and fighting procrastination. With a husband, career and 3 kids, fighting procrastination is something I deal with daily. After doing so much for others, I am rarely left with the time and energy to prioritize my personal dreams and goals. The author advises letting your family and friends know about your writing aspirations and asking for their assistance with household chores and such to give you more time to focus on writing. That idea seems so basic, but I would have never thought of it!
She provided the pros and cons of self-publishing and gives additional insight on other forms of publishing so that the reader can make an informed decision. I so appreciate that. This book has great tips and I love the review sections. It helped me put things in perspective and allowed me to create a detail task list. This is truly a woman's guide to self-publish with confidence.
