This is my FAVORITE book on self-hypnosis written between 1950-2000!! (I have read more than 50 hypnosis/NLP books). This book uses the classical approach to hypnosis, but it is the BEST book on self-hypnosis ever written! It requires that you have a tape recorder and a couple of tapes, plus two-to-four days available. (2 days if on a week-end). It leads you through exercizes on talking with subconscious and determing whether you respond best to suggestion or commands. Then it leads you step-by-step into self-hypnosis exercizes. Next, it leads you into practicing self-hypnosis to change 1)emotions, then 2)attitudes, then 3)mental activity. By the time you go through the different exercizes you have learned not only self-hypnosis, but also how to change any kind of unwanted behavior. This book is fantastic! It is a fun, easy-to read book which is very effective.

I met the writer in her office and witnessed her self-hypnotic method.
Her book is down to earth, clearly written; a meticulously planned set of instructions for you.
Follow her directions and you will learn as I did, the power of your subconscious mind,
She and Freud describe that part of your mind as your "unconscious". But
the "unconscious" is not the same thing as being "unconscious from a blow to the head."
It is a part of your mind that is not easily accessible by the "conscious" part of your mind, unless
you have learned techniques for doing that. The pendulum technique is one of them. Ms. Morris, Ph.D.,
is the best for teaching you how to access your "inner mind" and I've read most of the best on the
subject of self-hypnosis. I highly recommend this book for any person desiring to learn about what their "inner mind" thinks.
It will help you move "light years" ahead in your self-fulfillment and goal striving.
Sincerely yours,
Charles L. Labianco,
Ph.D. Hypnotherapy

I came across this book in the bibliography of Roger Straus' book, Strategic Self-hypnosis. I was intrigued by the title and the photo on the cover. No disrespect, Dr. Straus, but that reference to Freda Morris was the best thing I got from your book. He said she was far out and I guess when you read the first part of the book one might think that. However, after reading her book from cover to cover over a weekend (she recommends reading it twice before taking action) I found her presentation and outline of how to learn self-hypnosis simple, straight forward, and exceptionally clear. I was amazed at how good the book is and the effect reading it had on me. I've read, studied, and practiced a lot of hypnosis since the early 1980s and pretty much concluded Milton Erickson was the best. I'm still of that opinion. But Freda Morris is cut from a different cloth, a GOOD cloth, REALLY GOOD. When you read her book you'll be touched by that cloth, and it's a good thing.
