Review

"Sophie Moss' sweet rendering of relationships are reminiscent of Nora Roberts. If you enjoyed Nora Roberts' Gallaghers of Ardmore Trilogy or Three Sisters Island Trilogy, I definitely recommend Sophie Moss' paranormal romance series, The Seal Island Trilogy." ~ TopList-BestFictionBooks.com

The second installment of the Seal Island Trilogy, The Selkie Enchantress is a stunningly beautiful Irish fairy tale. The characters from the first book The Selkie Spell are present, together with some new ones. Myths and fairy tales come to life on the island and the residents must stand together against a formidable force. This is a beautiful story of love and friendship; where strangers bring magic, danger and truth to the island once again.

I don't have the words to adequately describe how wonderfully this book is written. I could almost smell the scent of roses and taste the salt in the air while reading, and I felt like I was transported to a windswept Irish island.

I have to admit that although I enjoy a good romance, I am not usually a fan of fairy tale-style romances; however there are 2 authors of this genre whose books I love. Sophie is one of them. It is perhaps her writing that attracts me more than anything - there is just something about it... Sophie's writing is poetic and it completely and utterly captivates me. The Selkie Enchantress is an absolute pleasure to read.

The Selkie Enchantress took my breath away! I literally lost count of how many times I clutched my hand to my chest, awestruck by the gorgeous prose and astounding twists and turns that I didn't see coming. Ms. Moss already won me over as a fan with her first installment in this series, but her sequel far exceeded my expectations. The writing in this novel is so lyrical and heartfelt that I actually felt as though I'd secretly experienced this story in the depths of my soul, and the author had somehow snuck into my dreams at night and transcribed the echoes of my heart onto her pages. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ms. Moss becomes a phenomenon--her talent and depth appear boundless, and she only gets better and better with each book. I loved The Selkie Enchantress so much that I'm hoping it will come out in paperback one day so I can read each word again and again--then tuck it under my pillow at night so it will seep into my dreams. It's THAT GOOD! This is a novel to cherish for many years to come.

Reading those two books is like "time-travelling". It reminds me of a younger me, when I fell in love with romance fiction... and Nora Roberts. The perfect writing, the celtic folklore inspiration, the well-rounded characters, the female friendships... all of that reminds me of the first Nora I read. It's totally worth stepping into the magical world of Sophie Moss. Simply Great Romance!

I adored the first book in the series, so I was excited to read the second. No sequel letdown here. Wish I could leave 6 stars! Once again, it grabbed me from the start and made me read it when I really, really had other things to do! LOL Wonderful writing, atmospheric setting that made me shiver (literally!), heartfelt romance, and many twists and turns along the way...all with a sense of small Irish town community as we see characters from the first book. I've always believed in the Loch Ness monster...now I believe in selkies too...a wonderful read!

It isn't often that a book comes along that makes me sit up, wide-eyed. The Selkie Enchantress had me at the opening chapter. I'm actually quite vexed with Sophie, as I stayed up until midnight reading the first night. I just couldn't stop reading...and I don't usually even like romance!

Sophie so carefully winds together all the threads of magic, fantasy, romance and mythology. It's just a truly beautiful work. I was mesmerized.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of The Selkie Enchantress and I am friends with Sophie on Twitter. That being said, I usually refuse to review books online for people I know. But I loved her book so much, I had to share it with everyone. A true five-star!

The meaning behind a single white rose, whose petals freeze and fall, will draw you into the next book in the Seal Island trilogy, The Selkie Enchantress, which is even more enthralling than the first. This book follows the love story of Liam, the brother of Tara's husband, Dominic, and an Irish folklore professor, and Caitlin, Tara and Dominic's friend. The plot is full of action and magic, as Nuala, the white selkie in human form, tries to tear Liam and Caitlin asunder for her own purposes. Plot twists and surprises abound as we find out the story behind the white selkie and her son, Owen. The setting and images are just as lush and magical as in the first book, and the emotions of the characters are rendered poignantly. The ending will surprise you and leave you yearning for the final book in the trilogy!

I really liked The Selkie Spell, so I eagerly awaited this sequel, The Selkie Enchantress. I can't believe it - it's even better than the first one! I loved it! We continue to learn more of the characters' back stories and their interrelationships. The fantasy elements are well done and interwoven in the plot. The story sucked me in and never let go - I was emotionally involved with the characters all the way through. If you loved fairy tales as a child (the original, not necessarily happy ending ones) you'll love this book. You get to see the good and bad in everyone, even the ones you don't like. I can't wait for the third book in this series!
