Anyone selling products or services online knows how complex the job is. It is a crowded market out there, with rules and tools of the game changing very fast. There is no guarantee for success, unless one masters the tricks of the trade and catches up with the latest trends in the web world. There is no chance here for the uninitiated.

James Dillehay has undergone all these since he joined the bandwagon in 1984. He has continued to hone his skills in the area as a researcher, guerrilla marketing guru and author, while weaving his handcrafted items and selling them online very successfully. He has more than fifty websites showcasing his crafts. A potential seller of artifacts online is bound to feel secure in the hands of such an experienced and practical trainer.

Dillehay has organized his book very scientifically into parts. While one part offers a comprehensive list of places to promote and sell crafts online, the other part shows how to organize all the possible marketing venues into a manageable system. There is a storehouse of information and guidance on both the fronts, in fact more than 500 killer ideas.

One thing I specially liked about the book is the inclusion of a very innovative `Marketing Calendar' which provides a semblance of order in the chaotic world for the of internet marketing. It also gives a roadmap for future for the seller.

The discussion on the practical uses of popular social marketing is an eye opener for the new entrant in the trade. The use of social marketing in ecommerce can only be ignored at one's peril. The book also delves deep into the world of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) skills which are now sure tools of success in internet selling.

I've been selling my own crafts online (and at shows) for years, but I learned so much from this book that I couldn't wait to get started. I was selling on etsy (of course) and I knew about some of the other sites that I could sell on, but I had no idea that there were so many. This book lists 70+ sites that you can put your stuff on to sell, and even better, how to make it into on giant presence, instead of 70 little ones. The book also shows new ways to promote, advertise, and get more people viewing your stuff -- and what to do with those people who look but don't buy on their first visit. I'm already using many of the tips in the book, and will be rolling out many more over the summer!

I've always been into making my own crafts since I was taught the art by my mother as a child. Until now, all of the crafts I have been making have gone to relatives and friends as gifts or have stayed in my own home. While everyone, even my critic of a son, have praised my handiwork, I have never felt a need to sell my crafts. When I was downsized from my place of work due to the economy, I realized that I have a product that I have been making my entire life that I could sell to supplement my income. What I didn't know however, was how to go about selling my crafts online. A friend who sells her crafts recommended this book and I have been very pleased with the results. This book includes all of the advice you need to sell your crafts on the internet including all of the essentials of legally starting your own business like getting a business license as well as crafting your brand. Furthermore, the book also details marketing strategies, registering an online domain for your business, generating website traffic, using existing sites to sell your work, and even how to use social media websites to advertise and sell your products. There is far more information in this book than I care to summarize in this review but all of it is relevant, informative, and essential to succeeding in selling your crafts online. If you create your own crafts and want to sell them online, I highly suggest you grab a copy of this book. A+

This book helped me expand my girlfriend's small business into an enterprise where she is truly getting excited about making a lot of money now. She sells necklaces - one of each sign of the zodiac - and having lovingly made them all by herself she plugged them on etsy and eBay but in reality it was hard work getting the message out there.
Since I showed her this book she has been able to fine tune and expand her business and the rewards are already flying in. We have even got her listed up as high as page three on Google thanks to the SEO tips.

I loved this book. In fact, I gave it a quick read (book marking and high-lighting along the way) but knew it was a book to savor...I would need to keep it handy & ready to open and dig into at any free moment. I liked all the detail (not a fan of vague).

This book tells you basically everything you would need to know to sell crafts online and have your site actually be seen by Google/etc and customers; where to get back links; sites to sell your crafts from (free and paid); communities & where & what to do there; what directories to list on; how to SEO your posts; how to get publicity, etc.

It doesn't tell you how to craft, just how to get online & get it into customers view and search engine views.

Recommended. I think you will really like it. Best wishes!
