Once I learned to do that my book publicity efforts got a boost and so did my sales.

I wanted to pass that on to other authors and that's how I

I'm not an author, but I AM an enthusiastic reader of self-published books. Some of my favorites are well-written, unusual books which would not be profitable enough for a publisher. So I'm a HUGH fan of self-publishing and I love to see good SPA's sell lots of books and go on to write more. Writing the book is the easy part. After that comes marketing it and you're going to need some technical knowledge and the stamina of an army mule.

I know less than nothing about social media and will not even attempt to critique this author's suggestions in that area. However, as a reader, I can assure you that she's absolutely correct when she urges you to pay close attention to title, cover art, editing, and category placement. I have seen SO many excellent books die on the vine for lack of an eye-catching title and appealing cover picture. Forget the old adage "You can't judge a book by its cover" because that's EXACTLY how potential buyers will be judging YOUR book. You're competing with thousands of other books and authors. You MUST make yours stand out. And your book must be in the appropriate category in order to find readers. I don't know why this is such a problem, but I'm constantly finding books stuck in categories where they don't belong and left out of categories where they would find readers. Give this matter top priority.

It goes without saying (or should) that your book description is of utmost importance. DON'T (I'm begging you) say things like "It will change your life!" or "This is the best book ever written on this subject." Don't describe your book in such mysterious terms that no one knows what you're talking about. The potential reader wants a brief, well-written summary of WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT. I read 250-300 books per year, all on Kindle.

3.0 out of 5 stars An intro (fair enough)! June 6, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
No! This book does not offer you a get-rich-quick scheme. It gives you the kind of information that you probably already know if you have been trying real hard to make it to the bestsellers list for the last 6 months or so. I mean, I kind of felt that even I could write it. But anyway, I didn't and someone else put in the effort. It's actually good to write a "how to sell more ebooks" kind of book. There are thousands of indie authors out there who might get attracted due to the title. Someone can actually make a fortune out of this kind of a title. But believe me, if you are honestly trying and trying hard and giving it all you got, no one knows better than you about how to sell more of your books. There's google, and with one search you'll get links to lots of resources. If you are really an author, you have a brain that's probably better than the average You can sort out the data for yourself and make use of it. I don't do promotion for others, otherwise I could even include some names here. I can easily recall like 25 names right now. You just have to do the research. If you don't want to do that, then yes, you may like to get this book. If you have already done the research, this book is not worthy of your time or money at all. It's just an introduction of how this e-book world actually works. I downloaded it during the free promo days. That's why I'm calling it fair enough. If I had to shell out money to read all these I already know, I would have been really disappointed. Only if you don't want to put in the effort or spend a couple of months to get the idea by yourself, you may like to buy this book. Otherwise, it's not recommended at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars ✔ SURPRISING! June 6, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really learned a lot in reading this little book. The authors really know what they are talking about. That is incredibly obvious.

▲ The authors are very generous in showing the prospective author a lot of different ways to marked their book. Many of these were completely new to me. Lots of links to lots of good marketing resources. For example, I count links for Kindle Book Promotion websites. The authors obviously spent a LOT of time getting this information for us. Then giving it to us for FREE!

▲ Wait--it just occurred to me that the reason I am reading this book is due to the authors' suggestion to use FREE PROMOTIONS!

▲ Excellent discussion on how to use KDP--Kindle Direct Publishing. Even some of the more arcane details, like "keywords" to choose. They provide an historical discussion on how they used keywords in a very tricky way to get their book near the top. Good discussion on how to use Kindle "Select" to boost your sales.

✔ All in all, a really excellent book. MUCH better than I had anticipated. FREE? You must be kidding me! It goes to show you that the FREE promotion really works!

Length: 68 pages.

I must confess, I so wanted to write a harsh review for this book. But, as I started reading it, I realized it was the real deal. Good, old-fashioned advice with no boasts as to how they were going to make you rich.

What I most enjoyed, though, was the link to a blog wherein one featured author found great success using KDP due to her desperation in getting a book published DESPITE having previously authored five published title. Jessica Park was the writer's name.

I also appreciated the links to various sites where writers can post promotions for their books.
