I just stumbled across a website about two weeks ago that had a few excerpts from this book. I was intrigued, so I ordered a copy. I could not put the book down! It resonated deeply with me and since then I have noticed a huge change in my business. I've been a realtor just over a year, and of course was trained in the Old School methods of farming, listing postcards, etc. - tried and true, but just not right for me. I surely am not one to do cold calls or knock on doors - but I DO like to have fun!

Right away I knew these teachings were right up my alley, and I implemented several of the suggestions right away. You would not believe how many clients have magically dropped in my lap since last week! And the lunches with friends - oh, yeah!!

My whole paradigm has shifted and it's all due to this book and the refreshing new way of approaching real estate. I actually bounce out of bed each morning and can hardly wait to get to work. Jennifer's book has changed my outlook on life!

If you believe that real estate is a just game of numbers, this book is not for you.

If you believe the almighty dollar should guide your behavior, this book is not for you.

If you believe that your friends, family and neighbors MUST choose you as their real estate agent, this book is not for you.

If, however, you want to have fun selling real estate - and make a good amount of money doing it - without alienating your nearest and dearest, then I humbly suggest you forgo the free shipping and go straight to priority overnight. It's time for you to meet Jennifer Allan and get down to business.

So many agents struggle with how best to let people know you're in the biz without hammering folks over the head, becoming a pariah at parties or going broke with the latest throwaways (oops, I mean giveaways). Jennifer Allan has the solution - by marketing yourself soulfully, you keep your dignity intact. And get rewarded. Big time.

Enough with the postcards. Stop knocking on doors. Quit telling everyone you know that you <heart> referrals. Get this book. Have fun. Make money. What could be better than that?

An absolute must read for new agents, and a much needed thought provoking read for experienced agents.

As a newer real estate agent myself, I have spent a fair amount of that initial capital outlay on books. Face it, it is often difficult to be trained by your broker because they are very busy people. So you buy books and read in your spare time.

I have a small library that I have bought and read through, many of the authors are considered the "Giants" of the industry. I wish I had bought this book first (I would have a much smaller library). I started to say that Jennifer Allan is quickly climbing the stairs to the Mt. Olympus of Real Estate training, but it is more like she is at the base of the bean stalk and cutting away and bringing many of the "Giants" down to Earth.

Jennifer, no pun intended, speaks to your soul with a fact filled, experience based, conversational style of writing that makes you feel as though you are sitting with a friend discussing your career in real estate and some of the main "how to's", "how comes", and "what ifs" are placed simply before you.

If you are a current real estate agent, or are thinking of becoming a real estate agent and the thought of representing someone beyond even your own interests (which is how it is supposed to be as an "agent") is the driving force in your personal ethic, then this book is for you. If you intend on subscribing to the code of ethics involved in becoming a REALTOR because it speaks to that same personal ethic and you truly subscribe to "The Golden Rule", this book is for you.

If you are one of the members of the real estate profession that has contributed to the cause of this profession being so mistrusted, remember...it isn't too late to effect change. This book is for you, too.

Looking for a "manual" of what to do and how to get started in real estate? "Sell With Soul" is the book you are looking for. Jennifer Allan does an excellent job of giving you the practical (and profitable) approach to your real estate career. So many other books give you good ideas to use in your business, but they lack the step-by-step process for prospecting, listing, marketing, and selling. "Sell With Soul" is now the highest recommended book in my brokerage library for new and experienced agents, alike.

Sell with Soul is a lively, well-written and refreshing change of pace from ANY sales book you've ever read. Jennifer's no-nonsense approach to developing SOI's (Sphere's of Influence) is like nothing I've ever heard before. The book is organized in a clear-cut, well defined, and easy to read format. Jennifer's great sense of humor and her skillful use of illustrative anecdotes and blog stories will gently pull you through every page. Her style is guaranteed to bring a smile as you look at a whole new way of doing business.

If you enjoy time with friends, like to relax at parties, or if you just enjoy chatting with your buddies on the phone, you can incorporate those very past times into a cohesive and systematic way of doing business that will bring you returns for years.

Jennifer takes you to the heart of the matter in the very first chapter. Once that's established, she spends time with the nuts and bolts of listing, presenting, answering objections and other not-so-traditional ways of thinking and working through `traditional' issues.

What stands out to me in this book is the authors old school approach to sales especially since many realtors have poor reputations. She teaches the importance of respect, competence, and confidence as the most important features of success and principles for maintaining the customers respect.

Selling with Soul, is a really good book, it brings you back to reality and puts your feet back on the ground. As a Realtor, I get stressed when I miss out on a listing (even though I know it is usually because I have held the line and refused to list a property at an inflated price or the turned down sellers who weren't willing to get their property into sellable condition). Or, when someone I know lists with someone else (usually again, for a lot more than I would have agreed to list for). Well if you are like me and you refuse to set your integrity aside this book will help you relax and put the "lost ones" in perspective. It will make you feel better about passing on some and doing what is best for your clients. It will give you a sense of strength and the knowledge that the National Association of Realtors's Code of Ethics is where you base your business, not just your bottom line. I believe by doing business with integrity, loving what you do and taking care of your clients like you would like to be taken care of you can't help but be successful. Read this book if you need a pick me up, it will give you that and more.

In today's tough real estate market, you hear a lot of talk about getting back to the basics. What are the basics?

A wise mentor once told me, "Focus on the people and the money will follow". But following the traditional methods of prospecting sets you up to focus on leads, appointments, closes. People are tired of being "farmed", "prospected" to, and "dripped" on. They want to be treated with integrity and respect. People do business with people they like and trust.

In January 2011, I read a preview of Jennifer Allan's book "If you're not having fun, etc". This book so caught my attention that I knew I needed to start at the beginning with "Sell With Soul", so off I went. As a novice to Real Estate in the process of obtaining my license, SWS really blew me away. Thing is, I am an extrovert big time and Jennifer's supposed "introvert" approach just seems to strike the right tone for ANYONE in Real Estate. I have now been at it for about four months and so much of what I do sources back to SWS. It is kind of a mentoring book for beginners like me. Way to go Jennifer! Thanks for helping me learn to sell with soul instead of sell my soul!!

This is a career changing, life changing book in my opinion.

If you are tired of the old cold call crap, door knocking, begging your friends, hounding your family sales job and don't forget the make of list of everyone you know. YUK Then this is a must read. Not to mention fast and easy.

This book Sell with Soul although written for real estate agents, principles can and should be applied to anyone who works in sales selling anything!

It is about being at peace with your work, how you work and interact with other so the sales just seem to fall out of the sky but of course only if you embrace a kind, gentle approach. Be open minded and try it, you will be surprised. Just insert the real estate stuff, with your work specfic stuff

Old and New Real Estat people will breath a sigh of relief when you realize you can work with pride and peace and never beg for a referral again. A referral is a gift that someone gives without being asked.
