Excellent book for all, both foreign and domestic,

This review is from: Sell in the USA (Audio CD)
Though I'm not a member of this book's target demographic, which is non-American sales teams looking to gain traction and drive sales here in the states, I am a fan of business books in general and of this author in particular. I read his previous offering, Think Like a CEO, and have found it useful and applicable in my own business. Sell in the USA has his characteristic humor and engaging writing style, as well as a fundamental and core-deep understanding of what it takes to sell something--anything--to an American prospect. The author made his bones selling software to C-level executives, and his systems and strategies translate seamlessly to virtually any sales dynamic. His key strength, I believe, aside from his obvious knowledge and grasp of his content, is his ability to present it in a meaningful, useful way to audiences across the spectrum. For those looking to ramp up their sales numbers here in the states, I highly recommend it. For those companies seeking to gain a foothold in America's commercial marketplace, I would suggest that Sell in the USA is a crucial arrow in their quiver.

An essential tool for success!,

Mr. Kuta's book is a tool that any foreign business person whose success depends on selling into the USA should have. In today's increasingly globalized, multi-lingual world, a basic knowledge of the English language is no longer enough to ensure effective communication. Kuta reveals many elements of US culture, together with helpful expressions and phrases, that will help the foreigner develop a quicker rapport, and comfort level, with his or her US counterpart. Being able to communicate your proposal in basic, understandable, terms is of course the first prerequiste towards success, but there are many global MBAs able to do just that. If you are not a fluent English speaker, how can you make a difference that will give you the advantage vs. your competition? Kuta's book is an easy to assimilate guide that will help any foreigner, from young professionals just beginning their careers, to more seasoned executives who need that extra "edge" in todays hyper-competitive environment. As a US citizen who has lived and worked in Latin American markets for 20 years, I can fully appreciate many of Kuta's tips; I wish I had had a book like this when I was starting out to improve my effectiveness! The book will surely become required reading in international business circles, as there is nothing quite like it on the market today. Essential reading in my opinion...

If you're non-American and you're selling in the US, don't miss this book. This book gives you all the ammunition you need to sell in the USA! This should apply also to Americans not necessarily in the US. The basis of American thinking is revealed in this book. I have to say..."the quickest way to your American customers' heart is this book."

Intriguing read and true business book that made a difference to me and will surely benefit others in the field of business. The tips that are talked about are internationally valid and provide tactics that will prove useful regardless of the region of business. I am going to want to listen to this book again to get the important websites that are mentioned and other abbreviations and info. I come from a diverse background including having lived in the States and been in sales but many things in that book were really interesting and useful for me. I strongly feel it can help out if translated in Arabic to distribute around the region. Also, perhaps it should be distributed in the Far East. I think far Easterns are less aware of American culture. In the middle East, there is still quite a bit of Western influence. Well these are just my thoughts.. I would definitely like to add it to my shelf and use it as a guide to better my business skills. Thanks Mark..

What I like about Sell in the USA is that it gives the reader numerous tools to start, develop, maintain and close deals in America, when you are from a different culture. Mark Kuta smoothly goes from one subject to the next and teaches different aspects of the relationship building that needs to happen between business partners. I will definitely keep this audio book in my car to listen more than once. Along with another of his books "Think like a CEO", my close rate has increased with the knowledge gained. A must have in any business -that sells in the USA- bookshelf.
