2.0 out of 5 stars A bit underwhelmed October 31, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In the author's defense, he freely admits that all of the information in this book can be found for free on the internet. What he fails to admit is that the vast majority of it can be found all in one place. The larger sites in this book are well known in the KDP community and on indie author sites, and one need not pay a dime for this information. The lesser known sites listed are "lesser known" for a reason. They are largely worthless. He is also very repetitive in the different sections, listing the same site two or three times in the book.

Overall, I was underwhelmed at the MINUTES and MINUTES of work the author must have put into this book.

A few months ago I was browsing through one of the many emails I get listing free eBooks available, and this happened to be one of them. Approaching my own free promotion on Amazon, I was totally on board for finding other websites to submit to. Eager to find new hidden gems, I tore through this book with fervor, and for the first time ever used the Bookmark feature on my Kindle.

However, my hopes for finding more websites were, sadly, squashed. Many of the websites in this book I already had on my own list, and had submitted to. Now, that’s not to take credit away from Strandberg. It took me quite some time to compile the list I have. So let me say, if you don’t already have a lengthy list, he is saving you a TON of time. The information in this book will be very valuable to you. I will add to that by saying I did end up with a handful of new websites to add to my list - so, still worth reading even in my case.

Where I did find a lot of new information was in the paid promotional opportunities. Any marketing budget I have to work with is minimal, at best. So where I chose to spend that money is very important to me, and I don’t go into it blindly. Many of the websites listed in the paid opportunities I hadn’t tried or researched before. Thus, Strandberg has saved me a ton of time creating a list of paid options.

Overall, if you haven’t yet put much time into researching the options out there, or really don’t care to dive into the countless internet search results, this book is for you. Or if you’re like me, only now starting to look into paid opportunities, this book will help cut back on the researching.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great suggestions and help March 7, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When I was planning to use my KDP Select Days to launch my supernatural thriller GHOSTS OF CHINATOWN, like a lot of writers had little money for marketing, ads etc. SELL YOUR BOOK was invaluable to me for finding sites that would list the book without charging any money.

Writing is fun. Marketing can be a drag. Greg makes the latter a lot easier by saving the time of researching appropriate promotional websites. It's clear and concise and a wonderful resource. Why waste hours Googling when Greg has done that for you? Now if there were only an easier way to implement my marketing program and paying for it, life would be perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Busy Writers Needing Quick References October 15, 2013

This book allowed me to quickly make sense of the e-book marketing landscape without making that my primary occupation. Most writers prefer producing well written and interesting content than playing the ever-changing game of competitive marketing and sales.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strandberg Delivers his 75 eBook promo sites March 3, 2015
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The author delivers on providing many promotional sites. He wonders at one point how they might work of someone were to "try them all." He admits that he does not know. Nor does he indicate how many he has tried personally. I won't be the guy who does that, but there are ample opportunities to test potentially appropriate sites if you do your due diligence. I believe that cumulatively books like this one sharpen our marketing aptitude. If you're looking for paid and free places to promote your book, give this a read.

1.0 out of 5 stars under-reviewed book on reviews
Only 28 reviews of a book that purports to advise how to promote a book? That's like a dying author writing a book on how to stay alive, published post-mortem! Amazing!!

More About the Author

Greg Strandberg was born and raised in Helena, Montana. He graduated from the University of Montana in 2008 with a BA in History.

When the American economy began to collapse Greg quickly moved to China, where he became a slave for the English language industry. After five years of that nonsense he returned to Montana in June, 2013.

In 2014 Greg ran for the Montana House of Representatives, District 98, and lost handily.

When not writing his blogs, novels, or web content for others, Greg enjoys reading, hiking, biking, and spending time with his wife and young son.
