This review is from: Sell Your Crafts Online: More Than 500 Free and Low-cost Ideas for Craft Artists to Get More Links, Traffic, and Sales (Paperback)
This is a great and useful book about selling your crafts online. However, it is essentially a long list of different websites that specialize in crafts in some way, whether it's craft communities you can join, places to sell your crafts, or suppliers. This is probably a good approach, since information is mainly gathered online these days, but I think I was expecting more than just a list. Each website is described briefly in a short paragraph.

Also, the book itself is not printed in the best of quality. The text is a little blurry as is the cover, so I think maybe it's a self published book or something? It bothered me at first, but I got used to it. Besides the very useful content inside made it worth it.

Would recommend if you are looking for suggestions for great craft websites to point you in the direction of selling your crafts online.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Blueprint on how to sell your crafts online, May 19, 2011
This review is from: Sell Your Crafts Online: More Than 500 Free and Low-cost Ideas for Craft Artists to Get More Links, Traffic, and Sales (Paperback)
This book offers a lot, the author really knows his crafts well (no pun intended). It can be useful to a beginner and also to experienced marketers. The first few chapters are intended for those people that are just starting out. From setting up your business up to publishing your own website, the author will guide you from scratch. But even if you are already selling online, you may find lots of helpful resources in this section like internet marketing tools, software, marketing plans, and how to do research on best selling crafts. I was even surprised to see the author talking about SEO, one of the most important things in internet marketing.

The rest of the book talks about how and where to market in general. Social networks, bookmarking sites, communities and review sites, paid advertising and even offline methods to promote your site and market your products. He also tackles how to get free publicity and pitfalls to avoid in your business. This book gives you a lot of choices to promote from. It doesn't matter if you're a "newbie" in crafts selling or an experienced one, you need this book. It is worth its weight in gold.

The internet opens up lot of opportunities to entrepreneurs that are not available to everyone before. If you're still relying on archaic marketing tactics, you are missing a lot. So, get this book and learn the 21st century style of marketing.

What a wealth of information available in this short book! There is some very valuable information here which I would never have found out on my own. This book has really given me confidence and tools I was looking for to help me start selling my craft - I just didn't know where to start, but this book has given me several possible avenues to explore. Highly recommended!
