After my 5 year old Selle Italia SLR Gel Flow wore out, I bought an identical SLR as a replacement. Although identical in appearance, the new saddle felt different - perhaps a subtly different contour compared to the old SLR. For the first month or so I experienced a little twinge of pain when riding more than 2 hours. However, once I became accustomed to the saddle, it feels just as comfortable as the 5 year old SLR gel flow I replaced. The saddle is durable, looks great, and well worth the price.

I bought a used Litespeed Siena with a Selle Italia SLR seat about 5 years ago. When I saw this racer's seat, I thought it would better be used by a small, young, 135 pound racer such as the last owner, not me, 195 pound, 59 year old recreational rider. But I thought, what the heck, I love riding my bike around 100 miles a week and I'll just endure the pain until I get used to the saddle or give up. The result was that I got used to it very quickly. I can't believe how comfortable it is and how well it's lasted. I still ride it although all the lettering is long gone and it's getting scruffy. So what will I do now? Buy another one but this time a cool yellow one to go with the Litespeed and swap the old one over to my beater bike, a Trek 2500 badly in need of retirement.

Selecting a saddle is a very personal choice but after 35+ years of riding this is the best saddle I've ever owned. I search on Ebay for replacements as I know they will be harder to find in the future.

After having some discomfort in the perineal area using the saddle that came with my MTB I searched for something intended for real riding. I found SELLE ITALIA SLR Gel Flow saddle and went for it after reading some reviews and looking at the technology+material quality involved. If you're used to recreational-like saddles a minor discomfort will appear during the first rides since you won't find a highly cushioned surface. Once you get used to it, maybe after four or five rides, you won't even feel your SLR saddle. Excellent product!!

definitely comfortable, but after just one ride the leather (leather?) began to split/peel. looks terrible and probably indicates I'll be in the market for a new saddle very soon. buyer beware.
