The Selle SMP Strike TRK Man saddle is designed from extensive studies conducted which analyzed the different positions assumed by a cyclist in the various phases of a ride and the constant interaction between the body and the saddle. Based on these findings, Selle SMP designed the STRIKE saddle which prevents the cyclist's sensitive areas from getting squashed and increases the blood flow to the leg muscles. Selle SMP makes the saddle in Italy. The central channel of the saddle varies in width to contour the body and allow continuous circulation of blood flow. The front section of the saddle with its beak-shaped design offers excellent support when pedaling hard and prevents your sensitive area from getting squashed in the process. The design of the outer mid-section is shaped to follow your thigh muscles to maximize blood circulation and pedaling power. The overall weight of the rider is distributed throughout the saddle to offer comfort without sacrificing performance. This allows you to exert more power while in the saddle and ride longer more comfortably. The Selle SMP Strike TRK Man features a larger platform and more padding for increased comfort. I have a Stratos (SMP racing saddle) on my Kestrel road bike. I've put about 2000 miles on it this year alone. The next nearest saddle for road riding that works for me in the Fizik Axiom (of which there are quite a few models).

I commute about 20 miles to work about twice a week. I has an Arione on my commuter bike which is a Specialized Roubaix comp frame from about 2005 with flat bars. With a back pack on the Arione was starting to get uncomfortable.

I bought the TRK to cushion my ride a bit more. I'll never go back. Be forewarned,

this saddle has a lot of cush, a lot of spring to it and weighs a lot compared to SMP's road saddles.

I got this to replace the saddle that came with my Jamis MTB. It is the same size and just a tad lighter. Since the change, i no longer have presure pain in the fun zone. It really works! It does shift the contact area to the but bones, but that pressure soreness goes away after a couple rides and is nothing compaired to the groin pain of normal saddles. My next bike upgrade, this saddle is comming with me.

After getting my new commuter bike (Cannondale Quick 4) the first thing I did was get rid of the stock saddle. I had to wear padded shorts to get any comfort while riding, not sure if it was the seat or my unconditioned behind, probably a little of both.

After receiving the Selle seat I promptly installed it and took off for a 10 mile ride. I did notice a more comfortable feel but I wasn't overly impressed at first.

Although, after using the Selle SMP for a number of weeks now I find it to be much better than the original seat, I have less numbness when riding for extended distance. Also, I ride most of the time without any added padding and I'm feeling just fine, not sure if I'm getting conditioned or whether the seat made the difference, again, probably a bit of both...

Overall, I think its a good purchase, just give it a little break-in time before you decide how you'd rate this item...
