This review is from: Selling Your Crafts at Craft Shows: Storey's Country Wisdom Bulletin A-156 (Storey Publishing Bulletin, a-156) (Paperback)
This bulletin is one in a series of pamphlets that touches on aspects of country living.
If you have no experience with craft shows, and I mean not even ever attending one, this book may hold some value. However, I can't imagine a situation where you would be considering selling at a craft show when you haven't ever been to one. This bulletin covers some very generic and basic concepts of being a seller at craft shows. The recommendations for a certain amount of introspection is well done since a commitment to creating a craft, committing to a show and then running your booth are things you need to consider before you just jump in and do it. I wish this book had gone into a few more pages of detail. Just as the reader is saying, "Hmmm, good point, let's explore that a little more deeply." the pamphlet ends. The writing is friendly and not overly complicated so the few ideas presented here are relayed well. If the idea of selling at a craft show just popped into your head and you need some basic info, go ahead and get this bulletin, the cost is minimal. If you've been to a few and set up a booth once or twice, you already know 90% of the facts in this bulletin. |
