My dad always had the WORST dandruff and used Head and Shoulders for years. However, when this stuff came out, he found that it worked TONS better and completely alleviated the problem. Anyone in my house that's used it has found it to be true as well. However, although this is the moisturizing formula, it REALLY will dry out your hair. Mine resembles the consistency of wheat toast after using this stuff and if your local city has a tendency to use too much chloride in the public water, well, then you'll be toast for sure as well! Chloride seems to react significantly with this product for some reason when it comes to drying. That said though, you cannot beat this product for relieving the dandruff. Or, if you have a child that has ever had an allergic reaction to shampoo, Selsun Blue will get rid of that too. If you're worried about the conditioning element I mentioned, I've found that if I mix it with a regular shampoo, that helps considerably. If it's still drying too much, I use one of those glossifiers/leave-in conditioners and that REALLY solves the problem. And I know too - I have SUPER thick long curly hair and well, if that works on mine, it should help others. Great, great stuff, highly recommend but with the above condition.

This shampoo works well. It smells good and it stopped my scalp issues.....HOWEVER, I started noticing gradualy hair loss while using it. I did some research and found out that Selenium Sulfide can cause hair loss. (They say the zinc products cause it also).....I will probably start using Lipogaine Big 3 Shampoo because it has 1% Ketoconazole with Biotin, Saw Palmetto, Emu Oil and no sulfates. Nizoral shampoo is good too but has sulfates.
*UPDATE* Since I have stopped using Selsun Blue and switched to Lipogaine Big 3 shampoo, I have noticed my hair seems to be getting thicker and growing back in where it was getting thin. Very glad I stopped using Selsun Blue!!

this product is good my hair use to fall out more then usual i started to use this and the aloe kept my hair normal again.
Another thing that keeps your hair normal is putting extra virgin olive oil on your scalp. first for 15 min in a heating shower cap and
then wash it off with this . then condition.

Always works better than the other brands. I like to always try new things, but back I come to this. Probably will still be using it 30 yrs from now.

I decided to try this product to help with my dandruff, because other products had not worked for me. Since my hair is really dark and my wardrobe has a lot of dark colors, the dandruff has always been really embarrassing for me. Despite buying the moisturizing version of Selsun Blue, my hair immediately feels so dried out when using this shampoo and it smells awful. I would even be willing to ignore that if the dandruff decreased, but it actually got worse! Every single time I have used this, my dandruff is worse than before. I thought maybe if I used it several times in a row (over a couple weeks) then surely the flakes would go away, but no. Luckily I found a shampoo/conditioner with tea tree oil that helps so much, but Selsun Blue just made the dandruff worse than it has ever been and made my hair so dried out and feeling damaged. I actually threw away a bottle that was probably 70% full, and I'm just glad I paid with a coupon.

This stuff does work to get rid of dandruff/dry skin whatever you have...but it really drys out the rest of your hair (you kind of have to figure that because of the harsh ingrdients they use to get rid of the flakes)...but it is a decent product...just use a really good moisturizing conditioner haha...
