Beautiful!,
By No such thing as too many books! (Ithaca, NY USA) - See all my reviews

I've been getting this magazine for a little over a year now. It's expensive, but well worth it if you're a textile fanatic. Good articles, gorgeous photography...even the ads are nice to look at.

Finally a magazine for the brain...,

Finally a magazine for the brain. A teaching, critical thinking and, oh, so textural, that one can almost feel the fibres on the page. The photography is striking and allows the reader full access to the fibre art presented. It is filled with articles on BOTH sides of the pages, instead of constant ads for things we don't need. Food for the soul, heart and the mind.
It is a brave magazine for this time and age and one that deserves support by all fashion, interior and fibre artists. Delicious brain food.

More of a book than a magazine - SPLENDID,

This review is from: Selvedge (Magazine)
This isn't your everyday glossy, one that is 'current' today and in a few months, old news and ready to retire to the waste bin. Selvedge is a magazine (more of a slim book to me) that you can easily place on your bookcase and refer to often for years to come. The theme is textiles, and as we all know, textiles date back thousands of years, so the topic alone is hard to tire of (especially if you are interested in textiles, the history of textiles, or the 21st century textile artists who are out there creating a more modern take on a traditional work). They spotlight some amazing leaders as well as 'rising stars' in the industry, and each page is 100% eye candy - you'll really enjoy looking at all the full-color beauty in Selvedge alone. The articles are very informative, well-written, and the topics are all very interesting. The layout of the magazine is impressive, and the ads they do have are reserved for a particular section, and presented so well that you'll find yourself enjoying the ad space. Bottom line: Selvedge sparkles, an absolute must read, I highly suggest picking up a copy and supporting this top notch magazine.

From a world traveller and as an ethnographic fashion designer, I finally found a magazine that addresses a global perspective to fashion and crafts. Was just amazed at the dearth of profound and in depth articles and creative, sophisticated ads (albeit found mostly in the UK) that made me want to read each magazine over again. The magazine really brings together much of what I've seen, experienced, digested and produced from exposure to other ethnic cultures. Bravo!

So Refreshing,

What a wonderful, creative, informative magazine. I'd become so bored and jaded with the American magazines which all seem to look the same and say the same thing. Selvedge helps to reaffirm there are creative people out there creating!

Magnificently produced magazine,

There are ten thousand special interest magazines out there but not all of them are on the highest level of editing, design and production.Selvedge, a bimonthly journal all about textiles - history, art, craft, fashion, technology, collecting - is indeed on the highest level. Published in London, the world center of all things textile, it is magnificently written, illustrated and produced. I first came across Selvedge at a Barnes and Noble and became wrapped up in a specific article. But I couldn't stop reading, and eventually subscribed even though I really have no connection to the textile world. That's how good it is. Hint: The iPad edition of Selvedge is a better deal than the hard copy, and includes online access to back issues.

Finally, Selvedge has arrived!!!,

I have been drooling for this magazine from London for quite a while and after some glitches it actually arrived--today, instead of December or January. If anyone is into fiber of any kind, this is the magazine for you. The colors and articles are superb and much thought and research has gone into the stories. Not only that, but I believe it is being printed in Ohio now for the US audience so the subscription rate has been reduced.
