I purchased these dolls for my daughter's 3rd birthday. She loves them. Her favorite task is to take them all out, line them up by size, and then have the larger ones gobble up the smaller ones in the appropriate size order, starting with the smallest. She also talks about how babies grow in their mommies' tummies and assigns a birth order to each of the dolls based on their size. Overall I think it's a nice toy for a little girl of this age. If you are tired of all the toys that make noise, light up, require batteries, and are deemed "educational", try these dolls for some quiet imaginative play.

After purchasing the book, The Littlest Matryoshka by Corinne Demas Bliss, I knew I needed a set of Russian nesting dolls. I found the perfect set on amazon.com to accompany the book and ordered them immediately. The set of six dolls came much earlier than I had anticipated - within a few days of placing my order. I was very surprised at the beauty and craftmanship of the dolls because the price was low for such a set. The dolls plus the book will make for great lessons on family values of caring for each other. I can hardly wait to see my granddaughter's eyes light up as she holds them in her hands and hears the beautiful story - no value can be placed on that!

Thanks to the artist who is responsible for crafting such a wonderful set of dolls, for the Russian coin so carefully tucked away in the set, and for the love that has gone into creating them. These dolls are sure to become a cherished item in my grandchild's room.

Russian nesting dolls are the perfect learning toy for young children, and simplicity of play is needed in our world of noisy, battery operated, plastic toys. Between late infancy and early toddler-hood (and beyond) kids love to put lids on things, open and close things, place things inside of other things. They develop their dexterity and spacial reasoning by engaging in these simple activities. The dolls are bright and appealing to children and, if well cared for, will last a long time. My one year old is enjoying them, though we took the smallest doll out, as it may pose a choking hazard.

I ordered this on November 10th and received it on November 14th.

There are some small imperfections on the wood. The faces are very cute, but unfortunately the painting on their bodies are not the same as they show on the picture. The smallest doll just has the face painted. I wished they would show exactly what they sell....would have chosen a different one.

Wow! I ordered this on October 26th and received it in my mailbox on October 28th. The nesting dolls are well made, sturdy, and with very vibrant and beautiful colors. I thought the price was excellent considering the quality of the dolls. I am very very pleased with both the product and the seller. I know my 6 year old granddaughter will love it.

This is a Semenov Russian Nesting Doll's. It is a great product because it is a collectable and can be very expensive depending the year and date that you got it. If you get a very rare doll than it can cost up to $2,000-$4,000. You should not avoid these funny looking dolls because they will make your home look open and homey.

Reason #1: I recommend this product highly if you are Russian because is it your heritage. It is who you are and where either you came from of where you ancestors came from. Reason #2: You who love to collect dolls will love this doll because of the hand painted and handcrafted doll gives it a unique look. It can be made of many materials but mostly they are lime wood, water based paint, and clear high gloss lacquer. Reason #3: I would not recommend this to people who do not like paying a big price for a Semenov Russian Nesting Doll. Because the prices might start at $22.00-$500.00 and more. These dolls can be priceless but only depends on what kind of doll you might get.

This doll is very fascinating and unique. If you are a doll collector of a Russian than I recommend this doll to you. If you do not like to spend lots of money on dolls that this is a doll that you should not get. If you like to look at cultural things than this is for you. If you buy this doll I assure you that you will be satisfied guarantee.

Visited many web sites in search the perfect dolls and am happy I choose these. The order arrived in just a few days. The dolls a pretty and sturdy. And one of the smaller dolls comes with surprise...but I won't spoil it for you!

These dolls are super cute! I used to have Matrioshkas when I was little in Ukraine and these look exactly like them! :)I still love lining them up! :) Very nicely handmade with pretty colors! It is traditional, nice and simple toy for kids or just for decorating your house! (Mine live on the coffee table! ;)) Love it! Plus shipping was really fast!

This matrioshka is so cute, some of the dolls don't want to open up sometimes, but with use, they seem to be getting looser. I ordered this on a thursday and got it the next monday, so shipping speed is ridiculously awesome!
