it is what it is. It projects video and audio. never attempts to beat out the HD projectors or even be an cheap alternative. obviously it doesn't have the best resolution, never claimed to. its essentially a toy, and a pretty good one at that. some reviews talk about the screen door effect, and its true, there is a screen door effect. But as long as your behind the projector, you're far enough away to not see it.
the audio input is stereo, but unfortunately the speakers on it are only mono and there isn't an audio output. since I never really wanted to use the projector's speakers, I plug everything directly into my stereo, so this doesn't really effect me. the only thing I'm having trouble with is connecting my computer to it. but it shouldn't really be hard, just need some kind of RCA adapter, no biggy.
Whereas it doesn't need to be pitch black for it to work, you'll definitely need the lights off to see EVERYTHING. there's been a few dark movies I've seen where it wasn't "Ideal" but they were old martial arts moves where the quality is pretty low to begin with. on the projector there's a menu to change settings; Brightness, Tint, Color, and something else I don't remember.
over all, if you're not used to being spoiled with Hi-def everything, you'd love this. since there's only one input on the projector, I bought an RCA input switcher thing and can easily switch it from Cable TV to Xbox, etc... just last night I had 7 people in my room laying on the floor watching the baseball game on the ceiling, and didn't hear any complaints. I'm considering replacing my TV with it, its quite the space saver, VERY light and easy to transport. Comes with vertical stand to shine on the ceiling.
It is what it is
