Don't waste your money, the picture is very dark and the pixels are the size of marbles. The only way to make it look decent is sitting it very close to the screen which is equivalent 15" or so, even then the colors are way off. Kid's might like it but no conventional modifications make this worthwhile for anything else. For a little bit more you can get a used 1080 HD ready projector and get your moneys worth.

Low Price For A Great Product,

I've read reviews for this product on a number of different websites. It seems that a great number of people expect to get the quality of a $500 & up projector for a lot less. This little guy is great for the family on a low budget that would like to watch a movie at home on a big screen. It is meant to be watched in a dark room (like in a movie theatre). I think this projector is as good or better than many of the large screen projectors of the 80's and early 90's. The kids love to watch cartoons and play video games on it. If for no other reason, that is worth it. For the cost of an XBox or Playstation, you could buy one of these and one of those reproduction Atari game systems and give the kids hours of simple fun (with a lot less violence!). Most lamps for more expensive projectors cost almost as much as the projectors themselves! The price for a lamp for this little guy is about 10 bucks! Another plus is that lamps can be found at places like Walmart & Kmart. I have this projector and the lower priced, Sharper Image Wonder Wall. Both work about the same and the quality is about the same.

it is what it is. It projects video and audio. never attempts to beat out the HD projectors or even be an cheap alternative. obviously it doesn't have the best resolution, never claimed to. its essentially a toy, and a pretty good one at that. some reviews talk about the screen door effect, and its true, there is a screen door effect. But as long as your behind the projector, you're far enough away to not see it.
the audio input is stereo, but unfortunately the speakers on it are only mono and there isn't an audio output. since I never really wanted to use the projector's speakers, I plug everything directly into my stereo, so this doesn't really effect me. the only thing I'm having trouble with is connecting my computer to it. but it shouldn't really be hard, just need some kind of RCA adapter, no biggy. Whereas it doesn't need to be pitch black for it to work, you'll definitely need the lights off to see EVERYTHING. there's been a few dark movies I've seen where it wasn't "Ideal" but they were old martial arts moves where the quality is pretty low to begin with. on the projector there's a menu to change settings; Brightness, Tint, Color, and something else I don't remember. over all, if you're not used to being spoiled with Hi-def everything, you'd love this. since there's only one input on the projector, I bought an RCA input switcher thing and can easily switch it from Cable TV to Xbox, etc... just last night I had 7 people in my room laying on the floor watching the baseball game on the ceiling, and didn't hear any complaints. I'm considering replacing my TV with it, its quite the space saver, VERY light and easy to transport. Comes with vertical stand to shine on the ceiling. It is what it is

Since this was advertised as "hooking up to a computer" I purchased it for use with my laptop. This only accepts Red/White/Yellow connections. It comes with these on both ends to hook up to a DVD player. I was unable to find a store that sells the connection needed to hook up my computer to this, including radio shack.

Bought this for my church pre-Baptist class presentation, this product doesn't is what I expected it to do. Waste of time and money. The picture was no too bad that even the menu was not clearly visible even I replace the lamp for better quality GE MR-16 light bulb to focus to get better picture at the screen. Just goes to show...you pay for what you get!

I did what it said it would do. Doesn't have AUX input, so you cant hook up speakers. The sound its not loud enough. The picture was good and easy to set up.

I think that this is a pretty good value for the money. Of course, the picture quality and lumens aren't that great - it's not a $1,000 projector, but for viewing a slide presentation in a small group or watching videos with the family, it's well worth the price. Its got easy to use controls that you can adjust to your liking. With every presentation's own picture quality needs, this is a real plus. You can also find the light bulb (if you ever need to replace it) at your local hardware store or online for a very reasonable price.

It barely has the resolution of a cell phone. I think mine is 240. The lamp is so dim you have to use black out curtains to see 4 feet. My kids use it in the closet. It's the only place dark enough to project and get a decent picture. If you're thinking of showing movies or pictures on the wall. Don't! It's so blurry you might be better buying one of those kids toys you put pics under it and show it on a wall 2 feet away.
We tried to return it, there was a 25% restocking fee. (Wasn't here) It was a miserable attempt to buy a cheap projector. [...]. I can't say the site here. But it is titled "The world's crappiest projector" Says it all. |
