In Fall 2007 this game was $50-$70 at Target. As Christmas/Dec approached the price kept dropping to the $30s then $20s. After Jan 2008 it was down to appx $15 so I bought one for my son and a few weeks later one for myself.Basically I got it to see if my kid would/could enjoy GuitarHero, before I spend $300-plus for a console and the GH game. After I learned how to play (I had not even played GH yet..) my son tried it and thought it was too hard, (boo hoo!) After some encouragement and competition, he jumped from 4000 to 24000 points in a few days! I have gotten better but have not mastered the expert level. WHAT IS GOOD: -- It *is* fundmentally the SAME method as GuitarHero. Easy levels use single finger notes, but harder levels require Chords, sustain, and effects (i.e. whammy bar). If you practice on this thing you can do a decent job at GH,(I've done so at parties without any other experience on GH!!) -- The songs come at you fast and it is challenging. -- It Does teach the very basics of Real Guitar playing (like GH) such as notes and chords, hand-eye coordination, coordination of neck finger placement -vs- strumming. It does not take long for someone to STOP Looking at the fretboard and play by feel. -- The songs are copies of some good songs (Iron Man, Smoke on the Water, Tush, More Than a Feeling, etc). -- its physically fairly rugged and its layout is identical to a GH controller (w/o the game controller joystick). -- Its totally portable and self contained that younger kids can use it on a bedroom TV while the older kids & dinosaurs dominate the *real* GH. -- it is so cheap that if it breaks you dont really care! BAD: -- There are only 10 songs. -- The sound of the songs is like a cheesy organ, and it takes a few times to *really* hear how they copy the original song. -- The names of the songs are 'like' the original titles (e.g. Downtown = Tush, Granite Man = Iron Man, etc.) but vague enough to not be obvious -at first- what they are a copy of.

This is a fun toy, but parents should listen to suggested age on this product. Our son is 6 years old and received this as a Christmas gift. It is far too difficult for his age. He still enjoys playing it (not realizing how low his score is each time!). It is pretty difficult even for adults. Fun toy, but not for small children.

I bought this toy knowing that it was not going to be as good as guitar hero... Yikes, that was an understandment! Senario Music should be ashamed of packing a game obliviously aimed at folks who are looking for a substitute to guitar hero. The music quality is a joke, much like an ice cream van driving around a neighborhood, the graphics and game play are horrendous. I can't believe how bad this game is. I think the company tried to get something out ASAP for the Christmas holidays... Save your money, buy a used PS2 and then purchase Guitar Hero. This is simple a waste of time and money (I returned mine today).

Well it was worth the money it works pretty good my grandson 7 loves it he plays for hours on it . its easy to learn and its no guitar hero but its cool and worth the money , i think it is a good start for small children to learn on before they buy a guitar hero which is hard to learn .

This is an incredibly horrible knock-off of Guitar Hero. The sound quality and graphics are terrible. The overall quality is easily compared to a game run on MS-DOS on the old windows 3.1 (To put simply, think pre-1994)One thing is for certain: It works, barely. The controls don't have an acceptable response time, so quick button presses may go unrecognized. I'm shocked that this thing started off on the market at nearly 100 dollars. If you plan on buying this and thinking it will ease someone in to Guitar Hero or Rockband you will be horribly mistaken. Save yourself a return and invest in Guitar Hero or Rockband instead--the lump of money spent will be well worth the time.
