Fresh from his recent sex-and-suspenser Private Lies (p. 62), Adler sets improbably well-connected Washington homicide dick Fiona FitzGerald (American Quartet, Immaculate Deception) another high- profile puzzle: Who killed philandering presidential hopeful Senator Sam Langford's latest inamorata, the wife of an Austrian diplomat? Even before the news that the dozen-year-old skeleton that gets dug up the day after Fiona meets Senator Love is that of another Langford conquest, the case has ``publicity minefield'' written all over it-- and Adler clearly relishes the chance to show the Senator's toadies frantically scrambling to control the damage. The plot developments, though--Fiona suspects Langford's jealous first wife Frances, sets herself up as his latest romantic interest to flush Frances out, then finds herself really falling for the guy--seem more dutiful than zestful. Warren Adler is a world-renowned novelist, short story writer and playwright. His 32 novels and story collections have been translated into more than 25 languages and two of his novels, The War of the Roses and Random Hearts, have been made into enormously popular movies, shown continually throughout the world.

Three short stories from his acclaimed collection, The Sunset Gang, have been adapted as a trilogy and shown repeatedly on the Public Television network.

Mr. Adler's blogs appear regularly in the Huffington Post and other sites throughout the world and his short stories appear in numerous anthologies.

Mr. Adler is a pioneer in electronic publishing. He was one of the first authors to acquire his complete backlist and to convert his entire library to digital publishing formats.

A product of the New York public school system, Mr. Adler graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and New York University, where he majored in English literature. In 2009, he was honored by being chosen "Alumni of the Year" at NYU's School of Arts and Science. He has taught novel writing at honors seminars at NYU.

His Washington by-line went all over the world and was published in every publication put out by the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard.

Sex and power have ruined many a politician's career and like a good mystery a family's life is never what it seems on the surface. Warren Adler's Fiona Fitzgerald walks the line between her employment as a detective on the Washington, D.C. force and her heritage as the daughter of a once powerful senator. She has lived the life of hurt and disillusionment, which she must now investigate to find a killer across a fourteen year span.
Senator Sam Langford is a magnet for women, but they have a way of ending up buried in the backyards of Washington's elite. Can Fonia avoid the trap of a killer and the excitement of SENATOR LOVE.
Adler is one of the best of the Washington scene detective writers.

Is the author, Warren Adler, psychic or just very in tuned with modern day politics in Washington? Senator Love has some shocking connections to the Levy/Condit case. A very attractive senator is surrounded by a string of unsolved murders, mostly his interns. Is truth stranger than fiction? In this case, it's a tie.
