5.0 out of 5 stars This is wonderful!, January 4, 2005
This review is from: Senchaku Hongan Nembutsu Shu, A Collection of Passages on the Nembutsu Chosen in the Original Vow (Hardcover)
I just got this today, and I am very happy. Excellent binding, high quality paper, you name it, it's got it.

As to the text, this is the foundational text of Hone Shonin, a founder of Pure Land Buddhism in Japan and the teacher of Shinran Shonin, who founded the Jodo Shinshu sect of Japanese Pure Land Buddhism.

I haven't read through it all yet, but the teachings seem lucid and easy to grasp, unlike some of Shinran's writings.

If you are intersted in Shin Buddhism, this is a must!
