5.0 out of 5 stars Finally!, May 23, 2007
This review is from: Senco 820103N SLS25XP PowerPlus Stapler (Misc.)
Twenty five years in the cabinet business and when joining casework in both plywoods and melamine prior to installing screws, it was either use the BEAST Senco SKS or use a lighter weight and much lower powered 100 to $125 stapler that sometimes did the job and often times did not. Enter the SLS25XP. Senco gave it a perfect boost of power over their and others' midpriced guns and made it lighter and much easier to handle than the big slug.

What a joy to use!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great first impression..., May 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Senco 820103N SLS25XP PowerPlus Stapler (Misc.)
Just received this a few days ago. I purchased Senco 1" and 1.5" staples and did an initial test to make sure the unit worked properly. I shot about 100 1.5" staples through 1/2" plywood into a 2x4 with no problems. It came with the regular trigger installed, not the rapid fire trigger and I left it that way. Not sure I would use the rapid fire trigger on this stapler like I do on my 16Ga Senco stapler. I turned my compressor up to 90psi and started shooting. No adjustment necessary in the 1/2" plywood. Staples were just below the surface. I was concerned about not being able to direct the exhaust air but it uses so little that I didn't even notice the puff.

Pros:
Very light weight.
Very, very quiet. Wasn't sure it was stapling at first.
Holds plenty of staples.
Staples are easy to load.

Cons:
A little expensive compared to other 18Ga staplers.

Initial Summary:
I own other Senco tools; 18Ga and 15Ga nailers and a 16Ga stapler and they all work flawlessly. I'm familiar with their construction and have never had any problems with them. Senco's documentation is very good too with complete schematics of the units. I don't have any experience with their repair service because none have needed fixed. It was worth the extra money. I will update this as soon as I have a chance to use it on a real project.

3.0 out of 5 stars Senco SLS25XP 18 GUAGE STAPLER, September 7, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Senco 820103N SLS25XP PowerPlus Stapler (Misc.)
The stapler is presented in the description with a case, yet no case came with it. The previous model did come with one, but had a shorter warranty period than this one. Although the seller likewise believed and so stated a case would come with it, he nevertheless stood behind his offer and sent me one at no charge. The stapler operated well for approximately 25 staplings and then backfired through the wire clip/cap (jammed staple removal slot) disengaging the clip/cap. This continued to happen at no certain interval. In addition the top of the stapler began leaking air causing the stapler to not function, with a whoosh sound. The enclosed allen wrench was used to tighten the screws as per the instruction sheet. The screws loosened again after approximately 100 staplings.
The weight and design of the stapler is good, but I would not recommend it, especially after paying a premium price for it, compared to other staplers on the market. The seller was the best part of the deal. He was that rare example of what every buyer wants from their seller
