Frees up one hand to hold material,
By Doug G (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews 1/2 plywood onto metal studs on a retail space remodeling job. It worked okay but I discovered two main problems with the design. First, The way it is designed there is no reverse and no way to remove a screw that misses the stud so you need to keep your cordless drill/screwgun handy and if you push the nose against the surface it advances the screw so if you make a false start you skip a screw (this problem becomes less important as you get used to using it). The last thing is make sure to secure it the whole way onto your belt using the belt clip I dropped mine a couple times before I realized I wasn't sliding the belt clip on the whole way, but I am pleased they designed it with a belt clip- good design idea! It performed well during the job and I love the fact that I didn't have to hook up a cord. Finally my partner gave up using his electric screwgun and started using my Duraspin while I cut the plywood sheets to fit. It makes it a whole lot easier to hold a sheet of plywood while fastening them if you don't have to fumble with the screws. Be aware it may be very difficult to find screws for this screw gun - Home Depot in Atlanta carries coarse thread 1-1/4" drywall screws for 13.00 a bucket (1000) It takes about a strip of screws per sheet of plywood or drywall- but to find the fine thread screws for metal studs I had to go all over the place (and Atlanta is a pretty big town). I have noticed a strange hum from the gun after you release the trigger, like the motor is still running slightly- I think this is probably peculiar to my gun but it may turn out to be problem that wears it out or burns up the motor and drains the batteries. Speaking of the batteries they seem to last long enough to charge one while using the other. The gun is very light, surprisingly so if you are used to 18 volt drills. Yes, I would buy if again if given the choice but I don't think I'll throw away my electric drywall screwgun yet.

It's Like Milking a Mouse...gentle touch required,
By A Customer
The DuraSpin performs quite well. Very light and easy to work with. The only problem that I have experienced is the fact that even though the DuraSpin has a depth setting mechanism, I find that if I am not consistent with the pressure I use to hold unit against the work surface, particularily drywall, the depth the screw sets will vary sometimes allowing the head to break through the paper. With more practice, I feel, perhaps that will not be a concern. I think a 3.5 rating would be my honest assessment.

BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO DRYWALL,
This review is from: Senco DS202-14V 3P0001N 14.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Screwdriver (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have hung drywall for 35 years and had always nailed it. I had used the ds 200 both 2300 and 4000 rpm My employees and myself thought they were great except for the battery mount. When they came out with the DS 202 they had fixed the problem. I currently own 15 of these guns and they are great. We put in about 30,000 screws a week and I have only had one gun wear out. I wish they had these years ago it would have saved alot of wear and tear on the wrist and forearm.
