Great Nailer,
By
This review is from: Senco FinishPro35 15-Gauge Finish Nailer, Sequential, w/Case (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this gun in a set with the brad nailer and the stapler. I've used it a few times, having just switched to pneumatic tools from the old way (hammer and nails). As a new user, I can say the Senco is very easy to figure out how to use and very hard to jam. I did jam it once by putting the nails in backwards, but it was an easy fix (once I realized what I had done). The nails are a little pricy, but using the gun makes a snap out of assembly operations. The gun has a depth of nail adjustment on-board, but you can just as easily regulate the pressure at your compressor. Mine came with everything needed to get rolling - except the nails, of coarse. HD carry Senco nails, so availability is no problem. You can also use other brands, which I've done without problem. The main reason I chose Senco was the reputation of the brand and the fact that you can use other brands of nails. I'm satisfied that the quality of the guns that I got matches what I expected from Senco.

An excellent durable tool,

I've used this nailer extensively and have had nothing but continual good service from it. I don't baby my tools and demand they work properly, after using my crews FinishPro 35 nailer extensively and being very satisfied I recently bought my own.A high quality tool you can shoot thousands of nails out of day after day. Like all mechanical tools they sometime need servicing and I'd suspect most problems could easily be remedied by a service trip. Edit 9-24-07: The safety guarg got ripped off my FinishPro 35 during a recent job. It was a fairly easy fix and the gun continues to function well.

Had this nailer for a year and it worked fine until some plastic parts in the magazine broke. Good for a few projects, but does not hold up under heavy use.

Great little nailer,

True to the Senco name, recommend by a friend, this was my first Senco purchase.Worked perfectly out of the box, great control and has a perfect weight, not too heavy, but not too light to make you feel like its plastic. Easy to clean a jam by opening up the front nose.

unrefined but powerful 15 gauge finish nailer,

My point of comparison is the Hitachi nt65ma2, which issomething of a gold standard, highly recommended by many carpenters who've used it. I've owned a Hitachi for years and it has never let me down. The Senco in comparison lacks some of the amenities I like about the Hitachi. However, I think it's a slightly more powerful nailer and it seems to me it kicks back a little less. I haven't had the Senco too long so I can't comment on durability other than the handle grip wrapping hasn't been durable. It hasn't jammed on me. I prefer the Hitachi nail-loading mechanism, but the Senco isn't bad, just not as user friendly. My Hitachi was in another state with lots of other tools when I had a need for a finish nailer. The purchase of the Senco was opportunistic, but I've no cause to regret picking it up.

I am a contractor. We have two senco 15 g nailers that are 10 yrs + and still working great with heavy use. We bought one of these new Pro35 last January. Plastic parts in the driver/magazine area broke within 4 mo. We got a new one under warranty, it had the same parts breaking down. We just returned it and got a Bostich. It is sad to see Senco go down hill like this. The old carpenter I started with had an original Senco finish nailer from the early 80's that he was still using in 2001 when I left him. This is not the same Senco.

My company bought this nailer and had problems with it setting the nails. We own Senco SFN 30 and 40 and like both as well as the Porter Cable DA250B. However, my favorite angled finish nailer is the Dewalt D51275K. See my review on it.Note:I have also had bad experience with Bostich nailers. |
