I bought this hose to replace one that was lost when it bounced out of my trailer last year. As far as I can tell, this is the same hose. I like the 3/8" size because it is lighter, which is particularly helpful if you're hanging off a ladder. I hook it to a 1/2" hose for long runs so it isn't so heavy to drag around. Also, kinks are less stiff with this smaller diameter. Let me say up front that this an excellent air hose that should rate 4 or 5 stars on that account alone. I gave it 2 stars because it doesn't have the threaded end fittings to which you attach the male and female pneumatic fittings for the compressor and whatever tool you have. You have to buy those separately, which adds to the cost and creates the aggravation of having to (1) find them and then (2) install them yourself. This hose seems to be marketed as though this "push on" feature is an improvement. It isn't. Not installing them at the factory as in the past is probably a cost cutting measure by shifting the cost to the consumer and then trying to pass it off as "new and improved". In my experience "new and improved" often seems to mean an inferior product with a higher profit margin.
It is possible that this hose is still available with the 1/4" threaded ends already installed, but I didn't see it if Amazon sells it like that. You should double-check. Would I buy this hose again? Absolutely. Senco's quality is head and shoulders above the cheaper brands like Kobalt, but I really do resent having to buy and add the push-on threaded ends myself in addition to the pneumatic fittings I already have to buy to make the tools work.
