I have been a professional finish carpenter since I was 17 years old. I have always been given these Senco brad nailers by my boss to use on the job, they have never failed me. My first nailer that I bought for myself was a Hitachi finish gun, brad gun, compressor kit from Lowes. Loved the the compressor barely ever used it, loved the finish gun definitely put that to the test, and hated the brad gun. The Hitachi brad gun had some major issue. I've also used Porter and Cable brad guns and Bostitch brad guns. This Senco is definitely the best, well worth the price. Did not come with a NPT plug, which was a little odd, but no problem, just went and picked one up for a couple bucks at local hardware store. All around good buy will give you years of reliability.

I am writing this review to help people decide on the right nailer. I make my living as a cabinet installer and this Tool is made very well and I wish I could use it but I am not happy with the fact that it doesn't set the nails below the surface of the wood. When driving 1 1/2 inch brads and 120 psi into 1 1/2 inch maple it leaves the nail sticking out 1/16. When using the same wood and 1 inch nails it leaves the nail flush. Problem is that I deal with finished wood and I can't have a shiny nail head sticking out or flush, the nail needs to be countersunk so that I can apply the appropriate wood filler. I contacted Senco and was told
"The SLP20XP is designed to drive the nails flush with the work surface. This tool is used in the manufacturing of cabinets where you are driving the fasteners from the inside of the cabinet. This way no wood filler is needed and you will not see the fasteners anyway".
Looking at the Senco website it makes no mention of this in fact it says the applications are the same as the Finishpro 25xp that the rep suggested for my application???.... Buyer beware, Too bad I didn't try it right away when I bought it from Amazon. I waited until my 15 year old Porter cable bn200 broke down 8 months later....the Porter Cable also didn't have depth adjustment like this one but the Driver blade fired down farther than the nose so it set the brads just fine. For some people this nailer will be just fine, it's really nice and well made except the plastic nail chamber, others that need a nail countersunk look elsewhere.
Senco may or may not be a good nailer and if I can sell this one I may try the finishpro xp25 that the rep suggested to me or I may not I have no favorite brands I just buy what has good reviews.

This is about the best brad nailer I have seen on the market. Compact, lightweight, sets the nails in anything. Leaves a small nail hole.

Bought this to replace my 15 year old beloved US made Craftsmen 18g brad nailer that needed a few dollars of service parts that are no longer available (a sign of Sears further decline in my opinion) thus had to throw it away and go with this item made in China. Quality seems ok and does the job with the Senco brads. This unit would not accept the Porter Cable 18g brads over 1 inch I had left from my Craftsman unfortunately. Also unit did not come with the air connection fitting or dust cap, cheesy for a unit well over $100. I also bought a Senco Finish Pro 2N1 for 18g staples at a local big box for under $100 and it came with the air fitting but still no dust cap. Also my Bostich and Porter Cable staples work fine in the 2N1 unit. I kept the dust cap from my old Craftsman and moved it over.

Hits like a new gun. Lightweight. Looks sweet. The safety is real nice. So far so good. I don't like how the the gun doesn't fit in the case when the senco hook is installed. Can't even cut the case to allow clearance to shut it as you would have to cut clear through the case. Will have to put it in a bag if you want the hook on the gun. I can live without the senco hook.

This gun is junk, within 3 weeks after I bought it the track fell completely apart. And It jambs after every other shot. If you want a good gun get the SLP20. I've had it for years and it did me good, but I just wanted to try this gun. The grass ain't always greener. Now I'm stuck with this broken red paper weight.

I have used senco and other brands of nail guns for years under hard daily use, and hands down senco is by far the best nail guns out there don't waste your money on any other nailers.

Pros: Senco quality, light-weight, ergonomic design, price.
Cons: too much plastic in lower section.
I would recommend it for both professional users and hobbyists.
