5.0 out of 5 stars hot
i dont know what these people talking about but they need to realize that its time to "send the praise". this cd starts off hot with 'you're welcome here'(my favorite song). then they come back with hits like 'fill me up' 'i got it'and the two that send you into that praise there talking about 'peace' and hold on'. once again new direction has come with another hit cd

1.0 out of 5 stars Another Weak EFFORT!
Those from Chicago we all know that Joshua's troop, praise ii choir and new direction are all the same choir. but this another weak effrot produced by percy gray. the remake of i came to Jesus should have been left the way it was. although they do bouce back with the cut Peace......the only good cut on the album.but i was not feeling this album and was glad i had a chance...

5.0 out of 5 stars BLAZIN!, May 25, 2006
This review is from: Send the Praise (Audio CD)
The vocals are slammin! The music is off the chain! The production is crisp! The songs really minister! Variety, but still sounds like New D. Favorite songs are "I Got It", "Peace", "Hold On", "You're Welcome Here", "I'll Fly Away".

This project combines the freshness of the debut project, with the energy of "Get Your Praise On"! MUST ADD THIS ONE TO THE COLLECTION!

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved It!, July 4, 2006
This review is from: Send the Praise (Audio CD)
I have all of New D's albums and I really liked this one too. This choir is defaintly on fire for the Lord and their enthusiasm, their energy has inspired me and my youth choir. But I do wish that there were more songs on this album, more new songs too. Rain defaintly had that. But nevertheless, this was a good CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but could be better, June 18, 2006

New Direction is back but it seems like they are weaker then on the previous projects. Yes all the youth choirs in chicago are combined in some way. Is this the new Walt Whitman and Soul Children? Not with this album. What really saves this album is the opening song You're Welcomed In. The song really brings you into a praise mode. Does not matter if you are in the car or at church, God is welcomed in. It seems like they tried to rush through the songs. I came to Jesus should not have been redone because it is nothing like the first one. they could have tooken that slot and put a new song on the album. This is not better then rain but it is a good album and you will not be dissapointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's OK. A step back from "Rain.", January 12, 2008
This review is from: Send the Praise (Audio CD)
I bought this album back in 2006 when it hit the shelves. I'm just now writing a review; that's how much I wasn't crazy about the album. The songs are not bad; it's just that there are not many songs that minister to the hearer. My favorite songs are: "You're Welcome Here" (a good, upbeat, fun, praise song), "Peace," "Hold On," and "Shower Down." "Peace" is an encouraging song. However, I read one review that said that the speaker or exhorter takes away from the song and I agree. "Hold On" is another encouraging song. The choir tells the listener to "Hold on, things are gonna work out for you/ Hold on, God is gonna show up real soon/ Hold on, even when you feel misunderstood/ Your situation is working out for your good." I like the harmonic structure, and the dynamics are really good.

Most of the time remixes are better than the original, but "I Came To Jesus" was not good and should have been left alone. Why a female soloist this time? The length of this album was a disappointment since "Rain" was 15 tracks. "Rain" had songs that ministered to and touched the soul. If song quantity is going to be cut, song quality must be present. The next CD has to be on point whenever it comes out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Send The Praise, album No.4 for New Direction, spins in my CD drive as I, November 16, 2006
This review is from: Send the Praise (Audio CD)
Send The Praise, album No.4 for New Direction, spins in my CD drive as I, crowned with headphones, type away and what can I say? This is top-drawer stuff, folks! Yes, genre-wise this is not quite an entirely new direction (to mimic their name) but what's delivered here pushes hard at the threshold of its genre. Send The Praise hits the target in every department. Can a product elevate itself above scrutiny, demanding your enjoyment and consuming you in the process? Send The Praise certainly tries!

Even excellent albums may have the odd below-par track or space filler. This album has none - all the tracks are up there with no dips. By track 3 you know you are in good hands, that New Direction wont let things go. Picking out strong tracks is an irrelevant exercise and does little justice to the rest. Quality control dealt with any potential troughs, from the first note to the last.

There's superb balance in the mix, never uncomfortable to listen to at any volume. Beautiful keyboard work (particularly the piano) drives things yet sit in the right place with the vocals up front.

Can things surpass this? Of course! Like the 100m dash, just when you think the record can't be broken, someone comes along and does just that. Send The Praise will be bettered but not for now so just buy this cutting-edge album, knowing you have the best of the moment.

This review is from: Send the Praise (Audio CD)
I was honestly dissapointed with this album. I bought this album with the expectation of the caliber of songs that was found on the album RAIN.This album is average. All I can do is sigh and hope the next album is better.
