Serah sings like an angel, her voice floating over the wind.,

Serah's voice is mesmarizing, as she combines English, French lyrics with African tones and rhythms. Each song is an invitation to revisit and enjoy the blend of sounds.

Production is good, but the Vocals are a Big Detraction,

From the CD case and liner notes listing the musicians, it is obvious that this was a big production. Mixing in African vocalists was an interesting touch. But Serah's singing is probably the biggest detraction from this CD. Sometimes (such as with the song 'Grace') she is hopping in and out of falsetto so quickly you wonder why she didn't set the song half an octave lower so she could actually sing it without the annoying shifts. On other songs, such as Papillon, she feels compelled to sing with a disturbing twang like she is pinching her nose. I have listened to this CD for several months, and while I enjoy the quality of the compositions and the African musicians, Serah's vocals continue to take away from the enjoyment. Hopefully this was an early endeavor on her part that has served as a learning ground for further progression. In my opinion, this CD could have benefited from some unbiased vocal coaching for Serah, leading to a more polished vocal style.

Serah has a beautiful voice!,

if you are looking for unique music and a gorgeous voice akin to Clannad's Maire Brennan or Loreena McKennitt, Serah is the artist for you. the African drum rhythms will appeal to those who like a little fast and furious and the vocals will appeal to your softer sider. definitely check this album out.
