You are!
You were curious about something. You bought a book. And now you're sleuthing.
A Senior Sleuth is any senior citizen curious enough about a particular topic to investigate. Although learning any new topic or skill can be daunting at first, the Senior Sleuth knows that patience and persistence will crack the toughest case.
In fact, as a Senior Sleuth you have an advantage over younger investigators. You have a full lifetime of experiences. This will help you more easily contextualize new concepts--comparing them to another of your billion life experiences--so that the new fits nicely in with the old.
For example: You hear of this gadget called a Global Positioning System (GPS) device, which maps your exact location, no matter where you are. This immediately makes sense to you. You, like every other person on the planet, sometimes get lost while driving or hiking an unfamiliar trail. In fact, you've gone more places (and have subsequently gotten more lost) than younger folks, so you understand the need for this device better than most. You might not know how it works or how to use the thing, but you now know the technology exists and you have the option to learn more.
But, of course, you already know this. That's why you are here. I'll stop yammering. It's time to investigate.

Consolidated Content for the Curious,
This review is from: The Senior Sleuth's Guide to Technology for Seniors (Paperback)
This book gives a broad survey of the products that seniors should consider using. It goes beyond just talking about computers, and covers topics like smart phones, medical devices, Tivo, and GPS devices. Although many of these devices are mainstream, this book does a nice job presenting the advantages offered to the senior community.
There are a lot of high tech products out there, and you could research each product type individually online. That is too much work for someone like me. This book lets you see the ones that will benefit seniors all in one place.

Technology is getting very confusing for this senior. It was easy to find answers to any technology questions. I also found new ideas that I wasn't even looking for. I bought a copy for myself but now I'm buying more for my friends for Christmas.

Great book for seniors,
This review is from: The Senior Sleuth's Guide to Technology for Seniors (Paperback)
This book was an excellent source for technology information tailored to seniors. The section describing sources for maintaining or improving mental and auditory capabilities was especially helpful. Peterka recommended the Posit Science Brain Fitness Program, and I have been using the Auditory and Visual products and have seen improvements. . .including with my tennis game! I have a technical background but still found all of the information in the book very useful. My daughter bought this book for me for Father's Day, and now she has bought another copy for her in-laws for Christmas.
