About the Author

Paul Premack has practiced law in Texas since 1982. The Premack Law Office in San Antonio focuses on the legal needs of seniors and their families. Paul is certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, which is accredited by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the American Bar Association. He is a founding member of the Council of Advanced Practitioners of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Paul is also certified as a Geriatric Scholar by the University of Texas Health Sci-ence Center in San Antonio. He earned his BA from the University of Texas at Austin with high honors in 1979, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Univer-sity of Houston College of Law in 1982. Since 1989 Paul has written a weekly column for the San Antonio Express-News on legal matters of concern to seniors. The Austin-area Senior Advocate also car-ries his column in their monthly publication. Paul holds membership in the State Bar of Texas, in the San Antonio Bar Associa-tion, and is a Life Fellow of the San Antonio Bar Foundation. He is also a member of the Texas Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and served on its Board of Directors for five terms.

Paul Premack is a Certified Elder Law Attorney and was a founding member of the Council of Advanced Practitioners of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He was awarded the 2009 Kishpaugh Award from the San Antonio Bar Association for his contributions to the San Antonio Senior Community.

He earned his law degree at the University of Houston, and was the first attorney to complete the Geriatric Scholars program at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio.

Paul is author of "The Senior Texan Legal Guide" (now in its 5th Edition) and he has written a weekly legal column for the Express-News for the past 21years. It currently appears weekly in the Express online edition at MySA.com

Paul has practiced elder law in San Antonio for 28 years. His law practice focuses on the legal needs of people in their retirement years. His website, at www.Premack.com has a wealth of free legal information and a "virtual online law office" for preparation of important legal documents for those too far away to get to his office.
