***I know this is a huge wall of text but you should make sure you know what to expect when buying something that costs over $200.***

First and foremost, I am a gamer. I have been gaming competitively for well over 10 years and over that period have gone through numerous headsets these being the Turtle Beach X1 & X11, the Tritton AX Pro, the Astro A40 2010 & 2011 Models, and now the Sennheiser PC360. The Sennheiser PC 360s, however, take the cake for being the best headset that I've ever owned and used. Also, I am an Xbox 360 gamer so before reading this review keep in mind that I am using this with Astro Gaming's Mixamp for 5.1 SRS from the Xbox 360, and not as a standalone 2.1 Stereo headset as it is intended. This is because without a Mixamp you can not use this headset with an Xbox 360.

***Pros
[+] Amazing sound quality
[+] Some of the best audio positioning available on a dedicated gaming headset due to the Open Acoustic build and the large sound stage.
[+] Open Acoustic design allows air to flow through the speakers to your ears, keeping your ears cool and getting rid of any gross feeling of warmth that can be caused by a closed design. (Astro A40, Tritton AX Pro)
[+] Superb noise cancelling microphone. Very sturdy but also pliable to adjust easily to user preference. Xbox Live chat is very clear and the mic picks up your voice without you having to yell. It does very well to also block out any unwanted noise.
[+] Extremely comfortable. The earpads and headband cushion are covered in a velour material that feels great around the ears (keep in mind these headphones will completely surround your ears and will not push down on any part of your ear).

These headphones will not disappoint! By far the best sounding gaming headphones ive heard. I have the astro a40s and there is no comparison here. These are very light and comfortable. I have worn them for call of duty all nighters for over 6-7 hours with no problem whatsoever. If you are looking for sound isolation, you may want to pass these by. Alot of sound does escape out. I can have a conversation with my wife while using these at lower volumes. I actually prefer this kind myself and dont care for sound isolating headphones, especially for gaming because they get too hot and uncomfortable and generally have more messy sounding bass. These dont have TOO MUCH bass, but it is there and sounds good and not distorted. (The bass in these is alot better than in the a40s) I will say I use an astro mixamp in conjunction with these for gaming on the PS3 and it is a great little setup. My friends tell me I sound really clear when using the mic. I listen to music with them also and they sound great for music as well. When I listen to music I do not use the amp and they sound great on my sony vaio laptop without an amp. They are made of mainly plastic but dont have a cheap feel. They are built very well and look to be a set of headphones that will last a long time. I do have a gripe. for what these cost, they should include a case. But if you want a quality piece, you'll have to overlook that.

I began my quest back in late 2010. My objective was to find the best gaming headset for PC. I had been using a pair of Steel Series SteelSound 5H V2 for 3 years and was really unimpressed with the sound quality, so having great sound was a top priority for me. After reading countless reviews, doing hours of research on headphone niche websites, I chose the Sennheiser PC 350 since they were closed back and had fairly good reviews. When I got them, however, I found the sound quality to be far less than I was hoping. The bass was empty and the sound hollow. I next decided to try a very nice set of cans with a clip-on microphone, so my second purchase was a set of Sennheiser HD595 and a Zalman Microphone Zm-Mic1. Well the headphones sounded fantastic, but the microphone quality was beyond terrible. It simply was not tolerable. So I went back to the drawing board, and decided to buy the Beyerdynamic MMX 300, which are basically the Beyerdynamic DT 770 with a nice microphone on them.Read more ›

I have been researching the net for a replacement for my aging Turtle Beach X3 wireless headsets tied to my Xbox, and after a few weeks of learning, ordering and trying a few different brands, these are the keepers!

Well manufactured, solid, and they look "all business". Very light, in my opinion compared to the Astro A40 and TB HPX, tried both, and both are returned. Large size velour ear covers, much more comfortable than say, the vinyl on my X3s. I like the fact that the PC360 series has on-board controls for volume and mute (very slick on the later, as all you do is pivot the boom up until you hear and click and it's muted), a shortcoming of the HPX. I have these connected to an Astro Mixamp at the moment and all is rocking with solid bass and great separation (I can pinpoint an enemy whether 2 or 5 o'clock, very nice). The open design allows me to hear hear the phone while keeping my ears cooler than my X3s. I did run the PC360s overnight for 12 hours, attached to my Mac playing iTunes to break them in a bit. I have read that this allows for a broadened range of highs and lows....and I can say, I think it worked.

I have them connected via the digital audio optical out on the back of the XBOX. As a note the cord is long enough, I sit about 8 feet back from a 50" LCD, no problems. If you use a Mixamp, the cables/cords are all included with the Mixamp to get these headphones connected to your XBOX. Not sure about a PS3, but my guess is they will work as well.

Shipped overnight delivery, and received a free FiiO E5 Headphone Amplifier and a $10 discount on the headsets, overall a great value if you're a serious/semi-serious gamer.
