I bought a Sennheiser headset but needed this connector for my telephone. My phone has a 2.5mm jack. I was going to order an extender cable as well so that I could move around my office while talking. But I didn't need to with the cable as it gives me enough additional cable.

Works fine with my Panasonic cordless phones. The volume is a little soft (even at max), but I have the dual earphone style headset so it's still easy to hear everything. I'm told the mic is very clear.
This adapter also adds over 3' of chord to the headset.
