Let me first say that I have used many over the ear headsets of Sennheiser such as the Sennheiser PXC 250 Active Noise Canceling Headphones so this was the first in ear type I tried. I compared it to the other three pair I had laying nearby in a head to head, or ear to ear, comparison.

The version number was a bit confusing since these are CX 215 and there was already the Sennheiser CX300-B In-Ear Stereo Headphone out on the market. It just confuses consumers to seemingly go backwards in numbers. Having expressed that, lets talk function and features.

The end that plugs in is a 90 degree type which makes it flusher against the device instead of sticking straight out like most earbuds. Reduces the tendancy to get caught. I go back and forth between cord length issues. This has the 3 foot cord as some have pointed out. I like it this way when wearing the device to, once again, reduce catching it, but need more when wanting to lie it on a desk or in a coat pocket. I think we need more retractible types for earbuds to get just the right length.

Other reviewers have praised the new "Innovative finger-tip contoured design delivers precision placement in the ear-canal" that the product description highlights. Honestly, you cannot grip the little edges to position the earbud. Once in your head it helps align them a bit better, but don't count on them when just picking them up.

The fit was extremely comfortable. Do not forget to test all three sizes they provide.

I really must start with: I am not a headphone expert. But I am a person who flies 75k miles a year, and watches all of my fellow passengers lug around enormous headphones that are larger than my purse. Obnoxious - I swore I would never do it - I have much more precious cargo to carry on than big headphones. Then this year, my opinion started changing after long flights overseas listening to snoring, babies crying - you name it. So I decided to bite the bullet and purchase the big ole headphones, you know the ones.

That was until I stumbled upon a local news program reviewing headphones - all of the best noise reduction, sound quality - and they suggested this pair. I went online and looking at the cost, thought there was no way at this price these would be worth it. Reality was I had prepared myself to spend $350. But the hope of having tiny little heaadphones that fit in a pocket was enough for me to try...

I was WRONG WRONG WRONG. Best stereo sound I have heard - EVER. Hands down - these head phones will make you question all speakers - car speakers, TV speakers - they are stunningly beautiful in sound tones - you hear every beat, bass, treble, surround sound. I absolutely love the sound.

Then there is the fact that the sound reduction is awesome - with no power source needed. And the ear buds themselves are so soft, so comfortable. You will be angry at yourself for wearing those plastic white headphones that come with your MP3 player. Trust me. You can avoid noise, enjoy sound, and comfortably rest your head anywhich way you like. And they stay in place perfectly.

Buy them.

I'm a sound engineer and pretty much my whole life, I've been pretty sensitive to different frequency ranges. I'm used to the very expensive studio headphones I use for working on music as well as the "consumer grade" pair I use for everyday listening, and they're generally good enough. However, these are pretty amazing. I'm hearing things I've never heard before and not just on lossless recording sources (i.e., CDs) but even on MP3s! I really wasn't expecting to be blown away but I am very impressed by these pair. I recommend them, especially at the price at which they're being offered. Another thing is that they're very, very comfortable making for hours of listening enjoyment--great for long commutes on the bus or train. And the noise-canceling on these beat that on my previous pair. This was a surprisingly good buy.

I used to be a big fan of the Sennheiser CX300-B In-Ear Stereo Headphone, but a couple of years ago the pair I had used for a while broke and I had to replace them. The new pair lasted only a couple of months before breaking again, and thinking it was a fluke I bought another pair, only to have them break very fast too. At that point I abandoned the brand and switched to Skullcandy.

I am glad to report that this set of earphones are in line with the quality I used to love from Sennheiser. The sound is great for the price, they feel extremely comfortable in the ear, and the cable construction is of much better quality than the last CX300 I bought. The noise isolation is very good too, so I am totally satisfied with the product and can recommend it with no reservations, even to those that like me were disappointed by this brand in the recent past.
