PANCAKES,
This review is from: Sennheiser HD 477 Open Supraural Hi-Fi Stereo Headphones (Electronics)
These light weight comfortable headphones really do sound great..I would know because I am using them right now!! After switching from my 40 dollar koss ones I can immediately tell the difference. When using the HD 477's you will hear new sounds in every song you listen to that your old older headphones could not bring out. Every sound is clear and that bass is better than expected in my opinion. The only little problem I have with these headphones is that if you leave them on too long they can tend to bother your ears a bit, but maybe thats just me. For an affordable price the HD 477's are most deff worth it!!

Lives up to the reputation,

I've had these for about 2 months now, and continue to be more than pleased. The headphones are decievingly light-weight, typical of cheap $0.99 headphones, but these sound like expensive studio headphones. The bass presence is great, no matter what headphones you compare it too, and the higher tones sound great, not tinny like the HD477's cheaper couterparts. Definately reccommended for anyone who appreciates high quality sound.

These headphones are somewhat comfortable with moderate sound quality, minimal bass response. The head cushion on my set keeps falling off which is annoying. I've tried every type of glue, the head cushion will not stay put. Detachable cable is a nice feature. Not as comfortable as I would like as I am always aware that they are on my head. They are worth the price but in my opinion there are better options, see Koss brand.

They Fade,

Have owned a pair for now two years. They are dying. While they lasted, they were unbeatable value for money considering. However, after long usage, the higher frequencies are dead, the headphones crackle and pop. Bass is still good. Yet, for 50$ then, not bad at all.

Very crisp, detailed sound, wide frequency response,

These perform extremely well so far. I am absolutely amazed by their sound quality. I actually started hearing motives that I had never heard before I bought them! The bass is very precise, clear, something that I've never had the opportunity to hear before. I've had them only for a few days and my ears are still not used to these headphones pressing on them, but I'm sure they'll adapt soon.
In conclusion, I'd like to state that these are absolutely brulliant in this price range. You won't regret buying them.

Good sound & comfortable, but they feel cheap,

I'd give these phones three & a half stars. I was looking for something for my iPod and movie watching late at night. Senheiser claims these are for "Home or portable use." They definitely make my iPod sound great (I'm no audiophile) but I wouldn't call them portable headphones. They're far too big and you'd have to wrap the cable around your body when you're on the go. These are strictly home use only. That being said, they are light and comfortable. The ear pieces form a pretty good seal over (they don't enclose) your ear and they're well padded. I've worn them for 3 hours without any complaints.
My only real gripe is that they feel kind of cheap. I'm not certain what I was expecting for $50 but these are essentially a black plastic headband with comfortable earpieces. So far the cheap feeling hasn't impacted their usability but I question their durability over time. So in summation, good sound, good comfort, questionable build and not very portable. |
