We tried several different wireless headsets before settling on the RS-130 and could not be happier. We tried several different wireless headsets before settling on the RS-130 and could not be happier. My wife and I wanted a wireless headset while use our treadmill and everything we tried was uncomfortable, wiggled around, just plain fall off, or worked like crap. The RS-130 was the answer to our prayers. It is a solid piece of equipment which is really comfortable and stays on your head (we have tried it as high as 8.5 MPH). The quality of sound is exceptional and has yet to give us any trouble. My wife has started to recommend this headset to her friends at work (who are taking part in the presidential challenge for Feds)who want to watch TV or listen tunes and complain about the noise of their equipment, home life and/or gym.

My requirement for headphones is different than most other reviewers have mentioned. My wife and I want to be able to watch movies after the baby is in bed. Having two people hooked up by wires to the Home Theater Receiver seemed uncomfortable and clumsy. This setup allows us both to watch/listen to a movie without waking the baby and without tripping over headphone wires in the dark when one person gets up for a snack.

So, in terms of basic logistics and comfort, this system is fine. However, I must agree with most all of the other reviewers who comment on the wireless hum. As long as you don't move around and sit pretty close to the transmitter, it is not very noticeable. However, it certainly isn't as clean a sound as wired headphones.

Another aspect which I wasn't able to uncover during my research is the connection. The transmitter comes with a red/white RCA connector, and mini-headphone adapter and a regular headphone adapter. So, if you plan on plugging this into your stereo/HT receiver's headphone jack, you're going through two adapters. That seems pretty kludgy to me.

Another factor that confused me before I recieved these is the battery charging. Yes, it takes some time to charge the rechargeables, but this takes standard AA batteries. So, if you want to use the headphones right away, just plug in regular batteries.

We bought these so we could listen to the TV while we work out on a Concept2 rower. The sound is way better than the TV. The set is fully compatible with the base unit. I would highly recommend these to anyone who wants good sound from portable headphones without interference.

As some other reviewers have stated, a pair of hard wired headphones may give higher fidelity for some music. However, I'm over 70 and have lost a lot of my hearing beyound mid range. Therefore, I could hardly tell the difference. I use these for listening to TV late at night without disturbing my wife, and also to listen to FM while I exercise or relax. I can walk all over the house, including the basement, (my TV and FM receiver are on the first floor) and signal comes in clear.

I love them. I bought one headphone with the base unit for my personal use but loved them so much I decided to buy an additional one for my girlfriend. You DO NOT need an additional stand for these, they will work with your existing one.

The headphone for the RS-130 Wireless System is an addition to the set I have. Now my husband and I can watch tv at night without it keeping the kids up. I mostly use them to drown out the noice of the kids running through the house screaming. With how noisy their toys are, I can never hear the news. This is one of the best purchases I have made. I can even go to the other end of the house and still hear the tv with minimum static. The headphones are a little big, but I don't care how they look on my head. They do the job and that's all that matters to me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good choice, perfect for watching TV, July 23, 2007

First i bought a pair if wireless Sony Headpones, they were ok, but the sugnal is so weak that they are easily interfered by nearby devices. I live in apartment and I reckon there is a wireless phone in every apartment so the static was awfull unless a sit close to the transmitter. That was a problem since my sound equipment is in the studio and sometimes I want to watch the movie in my room or simple listen to music whhile doing other stuff around the apartment. So i had to research for a new pair of headphones and I stumbled in with the Sennheiser RD130, they have proven to be perfect. I can be any place in the house and listen to noise-free music. of course if you move a lot some interruption may happen, but the signal is picked up very fast. Additionally I have 3 frequencies to choose from and when I experience some interference I simply try a new one and usually the problem is solved. I also used to play my electronic drum kit and the bass frequencies are awesome, there is only an slight the problem, if the batteries are a bit low static noise becomes constant because all the movement around the kit.

Another thing I notice in comparison to the Sony's a previously bought is the quality of sound wether you attache an ipod or a Hi-Fi sound equipment.

Hope this review is helpfull

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality, August 31, 2007
This review is from: Sennheiser HDR-130 Supplemental HiFi Stereo Wireless Headphone for RS-130 Wireless System (Electronics)
Bought Sennheiser RS130 and a Ad-on; both arrived same day. HAve been using them for over 3 weeks; both work great; bought them to have more than one person enjoy home theater and not disturb others in the house. Headphones work as expected. Far superior to others I have had.

2 minor issues which do not bother me or my family; with no audio present, you get a very low level hiss; when walking through the house and pass through doorways into other areas, an occasional and very slight skip in the sound track occurs, immediately back to normal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great headset, November 30, 2007

This review is from: Sennheiser HDR-130 Supplemental HiFi Stereo Wireless Headphone for RS-130 Wireless System (Electronics)
I purchase these about 6 months ago. I am hard of hearing and I was looking for a headset that would let me watch TV and not bother others with a higher than normal volume. I agree with other reviewers, I find that I wear them all the time when I watch TV. My wife was taken back by the price I paid but after 2 days she thought it was a great buy. She now finds she has to ask me to turn up the TV when she wants to watch. Pro - 1) I can go to other parts of the house and not miss the TV show; 2) My wife can play her piano without bothering me when I watch the TV. Con - It says that it will broadcast 100 meters, 100 feet is more accurate. I can get good reception anywhere within the house but it is limited to about 75 feet when I go outside.

This is my second pair of these headphones. I gave my first pair to a friend. The sound quality is great, and they work for such a long range--anywhere in my house without interference.
