My wife and I are 78 years old and enjoy movies. We can understand news anchors and commercials on TV with no problem. However, in the movies when they are whispering sweet nothings to each other or talking when facing away from the camera we cannot understand what they are saying no matter how loud we turn up the volume. With these headphones we can understand every word and still keep the volume down. It was a good investment for us.
One word of warning. While the ad says it is add-on headphone for RS-140 you should understand that it is not a RS-140. it is actually a HDR 140. This is just a second pair of earphones. To make it work you must first own the true RS-140 which includes the transmitter and charger.

After much researching, I selected the Sennheiser RS140 wireless headphones as a gift for my husband. He likes to turn up the volume on the TV whiles watching sports so it is really a gift to me because I have some quiet in the house! The headphones are amazing. Very easy to set up. He wears them all of the time and I love the quiet in the house. The range is great. He even wears them when taking out the trash. The sounds is incredible. He shows everyone the headphones when they visit. They are also great for people who are hard of hearing because the sound source is right at the ear instead across the room. 5 stars!!

I bought this headphone for a couple of months now. I like it very much. It produced excellent quality sound most of the time. However, it sometimes has static noises, especially when I move around the house. Also, the three volume adjustment wheels on the right earphone are not well designed. They are on the back of the earphone and higher than its base, very often when I laid down on a couch or a bed, the wheels accidentally changed position because of the contact with couch or pillow and altered the volume unexpectedly. This is a great product if you having a hearing loss. Shuts itself off if you turn the TV off. Easy to use. Good battery life.

I don't have to wear my hearing aids with Sennhauser wireless. The sound is fabulous. I,have in the past, bought 4 other brands, and this one beats them all.

Even with hi-tech digital self-adjusting hearing aids I was having difficulty understanding tv dialogue and music lyrics about 65% of the time,especially women and childrens voices. Upon receipt and after overnight battery charging I hooked up the DS-140 headphones to my Bose surround sound system (that I use to control my plasma tv,cd and dvd player and radio) and tested the headphones on each. Wow! I can now understand the dialogue and lyrics to the music without my having to put my hearing aids in. The issue was never volume, although my wife complained about my constantly turning it up as my way of compensating, the issue was understanding what was being said in a real time mode. Not now. I'm looking forward to many hours of pleasurable entertainment. One downside seems to be the control button placements on the phones. Not easy to accurately control for a man-size finger.

This is the second RS-140 I have bought so more than one person can listen to the same output. It's a very good product; the battery life is just amazing. I swap them in the cradle every day so both can get their battery recharged; may be that's the only improvement I could see on this product: the lack of a very simple/inexpensive recharging mechanism other than the cradle.

I have had the 140's now for about 2 years. I bought 2 headsets with the one unit. The sound is fantastic. Both my husband and I have hearing loss and the only way I can get every word from the TV is if I have them on. I can walk around the house and still hear what is going on, with no disturbance with the sound.

During the summer we have a large room air conditioner running in our living room which makes it difficult to hear our HD TV. We purchased this add on headset to use with the RS-140 Wireless System so my husband and I could both hear better. This works great. I can now hear every word.

I do like the wireless headphones but do not like the controls on the back, dumb build.
