5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I'd bought these years ago, July 25, 2004

I really love my Sennheiser HDR65 wireless headphones! They work really well inside my 1600 sq foot apartment. I enjoy the convenience of going room to room while listening to the tv sound, doing housework and knowing when the commercials are over and only having to return to the living room when there's something I actually want to see. I also love being able to hear mp3s from my computer in any room in the house. Also, I can watch shows as loud as I want, late at night, without worrying about bothering the neighors, or worrying that my child will hear the occasional profanity on cable tv shows I enjoy. I'm looking forward to having these when school starts again in the Fall, as I'll be able to watch tv or listen to music while providing a quiet environment for my child's homework time.

The sound is really great; the bass response is outstanding. There is occasional static when I'm walking around, yes, but not very often and it's nothing I'd complain about. And of course the sound is better in a corded set of Sennheisers. But I'll gladly trade slightly lower sound quality and a bit of passing static to be able to have mobility while I'm enjoying audio from any source within my home.

We've had a pair of HDR-65s for 4 years now. They are excellent for when the kiddo is asleep. Battery life is still chugging along, good for 3-4 hours at a whack.

For most listening the sound quality is as good or better than my 5 channel speaker system.

As good as they are, the best feature is Sennheiser's service. Our youngster has broken them twice. Not a big deal -- they get used daily and we have a tile floor. Sennheiser turned them around the repair quickly, and at the very fair price. They've got my business for life.

My hearing isn't that great, so i have some trouble even with my surround sound. With headphones, the problem goes away entirely, so I often use them even when the family is watching. Then there are the early morning or late evening TV addicts who don't want to disturb others; headphones are great for them too. Cordless, means you can go to the kitchen and get a snack without pausing the show, that there are no wires for others to trip over. Sound is very good, even if you move around. There are possible sound disturbances if you put your hands near your ears, but that's easily resolved. Battery charge lasts 2-3 hours, but can die in the middle of a show. I recommend having a charged spare. No problems in two years of moderate usage.
