This has great audio quality.

It has a strain relief portion, and then it doesn't taper off the cable.

One may pay more for this mic, but it is well worth it.

The Sennheiser ME 2 - Microphone is used with a SK 500 G2 body pack transmitter.
-
We use several evolution wireless systems at a local University. It's a great system BUT the ME 2 microphone cable is so very fragile that we have a lot of failures.
-
A thicker (and maybe even a shorter)cable might solve th problem. The cable failure requires purchases ($112 to $195) of new microphones far too often on a limited budget. This microphone should be designed with a replacement cable in mind.
-
The Radio Shack Cardioid lapel microphones ($24.99 Cat. 33-3013)is a cheap solution until the Sennheiser cable problem is resolved.
-
We have had no failures of the Radio Shack microphone cables so far. It works okay (with the 357 battery removed) clipped to your tie but not to your lapel due to it's limitation in directivity.

My frustration is very specific to the fact that I'm trying to use this microphone attached to a Zoom H4n, and the microphone jack simply won't stay in. The jack is too short and impeded by a little screw mount that limits its reach. It's unbelievable that this microphone wasn't designed with a universal purpose/use in mind, but designed specifically for a Sennheiser recorder. I didn't think this would be an issue. I had to buy a jack adapter (3.5mm right angle) and we'll see if that solves my problem.

As the lead worshipper at Eastland Hills Church in Choctaw, OK, I have the responsibility of ensuring that our equipment remains in good, working condition. I have been at the church for a little over five years, and have been working as an a/v technician for several more.
The reason I purchased this microphone was to replace the original one that came on the Sennheiser bodypack about 2 1/2 years ago. The ME 2 that went bad actually failed in the area where the mini-jack plugs into the bodypack, even though there is the rubber support wrapped around the cable. I'm going to assume that this new mic will probably fail in about the same amount of time, and with the same amount of uses. Being that it is used in church, only on Sundays and the occasional weekend retreat, that seems to be a short amount of time before failure, in my opinion.
The microphone works really well, and has a pleasant mid-hi tone boost that isn't boxy sounding at all. I found it very easy to dial in a great eq on the sound board, and with the Lexicon mpx200, it takes effects nicely.
I purchased the mic from Amazon, and received it quickly. They had a great price, and excellent communication.
Overall, I am pleased with my purchase, and look forward to hearing some great preaching over the next couple of years!

I use these for wedding ceremonies. Always bright and clear. They pick up the officiant and the shy couple just fine.

The sound quality of the microphone is excellent. It picks up well in all directions as it should for an omnidirectional microphone. I have bought this microphone for a replacement of the original which lasted a little more than a year. This microphone is used in a house of worship on a weekly basis for at least 5 services in a weekend. It is used by several different persons. I have replaced this exact microphone for a similar wireless system from the same manufacturer about once a year.

Good microphone. Not great. Not too expensive, but it gets the job done. We do interviews with it. Go easy on the wires. Don't tightly wrap them up or you will fray them eventually.

I had to return it because it simply did not work as a dynamic mic going straight into my JVC. I'm guessing that the impedance is matched to the EW wireless pack because I could not get the mic to work when plugged straight in. I brought it down to a guitar center and tested it with a wireless pack and it worked perfectly. So I returned it and then bought the full package (Sennheiser EW 112P G3-A omni-directional EW system).

This was well worth it. I had tried several cheaper lav mics and I just have to say that it was not worth the wasted time and effort. The Sennheiser EW 112P fired up with no problem and had no buzz or interference issues. And it sounded great!
