My company sold over 500 PC130 headsets last year. I've tried every headset on the market. The PC130 is solidly built, we've had zero returns from customers for broken headsets. The microphones fail eventually, but all microphones eventually fail and these last longer than most. The headphones eventually rattle a little but last much longer than Koss headsets. The headphone sound quality is very good, not as good as more expensive headsets but very good for the price. The microphone sound quality is adequate. Compared to a 10mm microphone, this 6mm microphone doesn't noise-cancel well, and it has no low-end (bass). But no one makes headsets with 10mm microphones any more, consumers seem to care only about headphone sound quality, not microphone sound quality. Another plus with this headset is that the microphone can be wiped clean with alcohol wipes, if several people are using the headset.

The first set of these headphones i got from amazon did not work, but i sent them back and the replacement was here in no time. The headphones have very good sound for this particular style. And the on cord volume control is very handy. The cord is very long and because it attaches to only one side of the headphones it does not get caught up easily which is great for using them with a computer. The think i like most though, is that the headphones are very comfortable. They are very light and do not get in the way of my glasses. They also reduce noise but do not cut you off from the rest of the world - important in many office settings. Finally even if i have them up quite loud my officemates still cannot hear them. All in all a really nice set of headphones

I've bought other headsets and they were simply too heavy. This one is an excellent balance between light weight and substantive performance. Would have preferred leather ear muffs to the synthetic foam which tends to fall apart after long use.

Fabulous.,

I bought the PC 135 Sennheiser headset about four months ago. Its a PC 130 with a usb based sound card which i'm not using at the moment. Overall not worth paying 40 dollars more for the USB sound card except that its a neat toy. But the headset part is the PC 130 which is a very good headset indeed. The sound of it is superior to my logitech z 5300's. It manages impressive directional sound. I can hear what direction armies are marching in warcraft before I can see them at night for example. The mic is durable and quite good. I talk to my girl friend routinely over the net using it. Fabulous headset for sure.

I recently acquired these Sennheisers since my previous cheapo $5 generic ones came apart around the ears. I guess these are the 'low end' of the Sennheiser line, but cheap does not mean a sacrifice in quality!
Mine worked right out of the box, and are very nice. They feel very solidly constructed, and the touch of silver on the earphones looks sophisticated. The mike boom can be rotated towards the mouth when in use, or afixed to the side of the headphones (great idea!) when not in use, thus out of the way of the user. The big plus about this set of earphones is that the cord is 3 meters long; definitely something I was looking for in my purchase. Quality wise; I'm not a diehard audiophile, but I really like these babies. They seem to reproduce sound and bass well, and the noise cancellation works great. I haven't used my Klipsch speakers in several weeks now, since I'm entirely using my Sennheisers. For $30, you can't go wrong. The PC130 is a superb headset.

I used this headset mostly for skype and I was very pleased with it till the microphone died. It lasted just one year.

I had to find a new headset after my old one got chewed up by my cats, so I did a little research and finally decided to buy this particular model. The brand name is very reliable and quality driven, they make many high performance headsets that are tauted as being some of the best. This lower model holds to that level of quality and performance, and has a very competetive price with similar headsets of lower quality.
The sound is amazing. There is so much depth and detail, I can hear the direction of people sneaking up on me in BF2, and playing Theif it's absolutely wonderful. Listening to music is great as well, there is a wide range and great bass for headphones. They are also relatively good at keeping sound from escaping, I can listen to music at a pretty high volume and not disturb the sleeping boyfriend or the studying roommate. The mic is better than I expected, the sound quality is great and all it picks up is your voice. It is also very sensitive to voice and I don't have to press it to my lips for people on TeamSpeak to hear me. After I bought this headset, people on TS commented on how much better I sounded and how much better they could understand me. As for durability, I think they should use my house as their testing grounds. I have three rambunctious cats, less than a year old, that get into and chew on everything. As careful as I am with the new headset, they've gotten to it multiple times and im surprised at how well it's held up. The ear pads are still firmly attatched and not shredding like my old ones, the mic arm still swings smoothly and all the way around, and for as many times as I've stood up forgetting they are still on my head, the wire connections are very strong. Basically, I highly recommend these, for quality, performance, and a really reasonable price, especially for the headset you get.

A couple of things to add,

I had a hard time finding the spec about the headset's plugs. There is a green 3.5mm plug for audio and a pink 3.5mm plug for mic. The mic level does not register with the iMac line level input - you have to get a preamp or a "sound card on a wire" USB adapter, such as the Griffin iMic. Lucky for me I had one sitting around and was talking into a GarageBand podcast within 3 minutes.
Also, I was about to throw out the packaging when I noticed a little plastic bag inside the case. Inside was a windscreen cover for the mic boom, which cuts down on wind and voice pop. Good thing I noticed that, because I was about to make one from spare foam, which would not have been as good. The mic is crisp and picks up voice well, which is what it's intended for. The headset is, well, a typical Sennheiser - awesome! I got my original open air Senns in 1989 for $75 (comparable to $300 today). These sound almost as good in side by side tests, just a little less punchy bass. They reproduce more accurately than my wife's Bose QuietComfort-II NR headphones. They reproduce so accurately, in fact, that I can now hear all the compression artifacts in my MP3 collection. Now that's what I'm talking about. Best $22 I've spent in a while.

Great headset,
This review is from: Sennheiser PC 130 On-Ear Headset with Noise-Caneling Microphone (Electronics)
I recently bought an altec lancing headset for $20 and it was the worst headset investment I've made. Horrible support for the ears and very uncomfortable to wear and they eventually broke within a week or two. So I bought this headset and I have been quite pleased with it. The mic output is extremely crisp. While talking with clients they said that it sounds like I'm talking on the telephone with them or better. They are very comfortable and rest on the top of your head unlike many headsets like my prior pair which have a support on the back of the neck which does nothing. All in all a good headset.
