They're OK,

This headset is OK. There are definitely improvements that can be made... The speakers distort pretty easily, especially in the low frequencies that fall within the published frequency response in the tech specs, and the part of the headstrap that rests behind the ear is thick and slotted, causing discomfort for no goodly reason. They are also made of great material, a rubberized plastic of some sort, and are otherwise excellent. I prefer these over the logitech and koss headsets I've used in the past, but Sennheiser could easily get 5 stars with very little improvement.

Hello- thanks for the review. Be certain to turn off any EQ or bass boost that you have enabled to prevent feeding the PC 141 an overloaded signal. Permalink The manufacturer commented on the review belowSee comments

Sound Quality is Okay,

I am big fan of Sennheiser headphone but I am completely disappointed with PC-141 headset. The sound quality is normal. The neck band is also not comfortable. The headset wire is extra long which I don't find useful. The microphone is adjustable but it will n't remain at its place. After sometime, it will automatically come down because of loose adjustable pin. (i don't know whether it is design flaw or I got defected piece).

I only got this headset to use as a mic while wearing my Sennheiser HD598's, and it works fantastically. I wrap the band around my neck and just let it hang, and the mic stays within perfect range. For normal use, I find it to be pretty uncomfortable. The band is way too tight. The sound from the headphone is alright, but it's got nothing on my HD598's, so I really don't listen with them. I just use the mic, and the mic sounds good too. Worst sounding headphones ever,

I bought these over the Plantronics, thinking: "Wow, Senns for $5 more, how can I go wrong?". Both were on sale, I paid $25 for these. Unfortunately the sound is TERRIBLE! These have to honestly be the worst sounding headphones I've ever owned. I already own 2 pairs of Sennheisers, one headphones and one headset. Both are mid-size, full over-ear style with the over-the-head band -- and I love them both. I bought these new ones primarily for the behind the neck design, for days when I actually have to go out without my hair having a huge headband groove dug into it. :-) I love my other Senns. But these are an embarrassment. Sennheiser should not make bad sounding products... period. I have Logitech behind the head style phones at work that destroy these for sound quality... and that's surprising. I'm going to keep these though, as they're really just a backup, and they're as cheap as they come for $25. But my overall impression of Sennheiser is forever changed.

Kinda cheap feeling.,

Like the title says, these are really cheap feeling headphones. That kind of works for their advantage though, because while they are rather flimsy, they're super lightweight, and are comfortable for wearing for long periods of time. Sound quality is pretty middle of the road though, better than a tin can and string, but not exactly studio quality either. All that considered, i use these for a low budget gaming headset, and they work just fine for that.

These headphones could have some improvement,

These Sennheiser PC 141 headphones are good overall, but the design could use some improvement. The sound of the mic and of the headphones is good. The headphones are a little on the bassy end, but it sounds good though. I prefer a little more natural balanced sound for most of my music. The design with the on-ear, behind-the-head style is nice. However, the band where it sits on your ears is uncomfortable when you wear them for long periods of time. It is a little tight and I have small ears. If I don't put them on at first just right, it will feel like it is pinching my ears after about 30 minutes to an hour of wearing them. I have had other headphones with this style in the past. They were not with a mic though. The other headphones I had in the past were comfortable. However, they were not the same company. If Sennheiser made a little improvement to the design of the band, then these would be very nice headphones.

The sound is great. The headset is comfortable. I've always been happy with Sennheiser products. Next time though, I'll get the wireless version. Although I bought this for Skype'ing, I find myself using it for music ... it's that good!
