Do not listen to the negative reviews here. I shopped and shopped and read and read and really could not decide which headphones to purchase. I heard the IR headsets were better because you didnt receive interference, i heard that some headsets dont fit well because their flat, i heard that some are really static-y ,, but this one is great. I bought it at circuit city...

Round 1: The package came with NO manufacturer documentation, and a "universal adapter" that didnt even adapt to the headphones it came with. I took up Amazon on their return policy, and ordered a replacement.

Round 2: This package had less in it than the first one. No documentation, no adapter, nothing. I spent $8 buying an adapter only to find out that the headphones didn't work. I was happily listening to music while walking around the house when a screaming loud blast of white noise almost knocked me over. I hadn't returned the first set yet, so i tried switching out the base units. Same thing. Repeatedly. I tried switching channels, changing the location of the base unit, and an impromptu prayer session.

My advice: leave this page before you are tempted to buy one of these headphones. They arent worth $10, let alone what they are listed at. For myself, I will never buy a product from Sennheiser again.

I bought it at circuit city for $80 just to try and will return it so I can buy it hear for $48!! THis is a good piece of equipment. If I had to choose something negative about this product, it would be that it does not have a charging station, but hey you can get a four pack of rechargeable AAA batteries for $10-12 at the store! Great buy!

I own wireless headphones made by JVC and Jensen. I bought the Sennheiser headphones primarily for listening to TV and audio books while working in the yard and inside the house.

The listening range in my environment is very good... up to 100 ft (not all directions) without static or dropouts.
The sound quality is acceptable for my application, but not up to audiophile quality.

My complaint is that the headset and earcups fit poorly if you intend to move around. If you bend over, the headphones slide off. The ear cushions are flat and pivot only in the vertical direction. They should cup the ears and pivot in all directions like the JVCs. The headband does not conform to the head. The design assumes people have slanted ears like Spock's.

A manual did not come with the headphones, nor was there one available on the manufacturer's web site. I was hoping to find some tips on how to wear them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Painful, October 22, 2005

Speaking personally, I like to listen to music while I work and I can only wear these for about an hour or two before they make my ears hurt and give me a headache. Also, two AAA batteries only last me about a week before I start to notice the sound getting considerably fuzzier and quieter. And this may be an environmental thing but sometimes there is a constant hum in the background no matter how much I mess with the tuning. The sound quality is fine and wireless is nice, but if you plan to use your headphones heavily (and are prone to getting migranes) I would warn against buying these.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fixing RS100 bad fit problem, January 18, 2006
This review is from: Sennheiser Remanufactured RS100 OpenAire Supraural RF Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
These IMHO - have a good sound for the price. However like Rich McIlroy -I found after 3 months - they slid off my head when I bent over. Sooooo - got an old bra from a lady friend - 36 a actually -and removed the curved sprung steel underwires. Carefully peeled off the padded strip from the headband and CAREFULLY inserted the ends of each underwire into the plates at each end (I took off the wee plates (2 screws on each) but I didn't need to) the padding seemed to stick back on again without adding adhesive and they are much tighter(I'm wearing them now)-just perfect. OK you shouldn't have to do this but it works! Bryan Dunbar - retired Medical Engineer

4.0 out of 5 stars Exceeded expectations, September 20, 2005
This review is from: Sennheiser Remanufactured RS100 OpenAire Supraural RF Wireless Headphones (Electronics)
A good bargain for the price. All I wanted to do was replace old wired headphones. Now I can roam all over the house with breakup only in the farthest room.
No directions were included but none were needed to set up. However the phones do eat (cheap) batteries. Battery replacement puzzled me for awhile until I found the key from a customer review of a different Sennheiser product.

This delivered as promised. I think for the refurbished price I paid, it is a good deal. This would not be a good deal if the price was for a new one since there are better options (IMHO). The only minor complaint is that the "fit" is not very good (I noticed a couple of other reviewers had the same problem).

4.0 out of 5 stars Unbeatable for the $30.00 price, March 16, 2006

I had been trying a varitey of sub $50.00 wireless headphones over the past year but never found a set that did not hiss at a annoying level. Although these are 900Mhz (theoretically interference prone) rather than infrared there is no annoying hiss and they have a great range throughout our concrete ranch. We actually have two transmitters, one down stairs and one upstairs for a different audio source. I can easily tune in either transmitter from any location in the house. Some of the higher price units have a rechargeable battery, but I'm happy switching batteries at this price point. Only drawback is the slightly large size and ear covers that are a solid fabric piece that compresses your ear. After a couple hours watching a movie I'm ready for a break.

I bought those Headphones over a month ago, and so far they have been doing the job. When I first got them I tried to use them at home but that was not a very good experience because of a wireless network that I have at home, I guess the two operated at the same wavelength and all I could hear was a lot of static. When I took them to my office thats when I started enjoying them, they work great, they have good range, and they dont use up as much batteries as I expected (2 AAA every 3 days), but since it comes with rechargables, I just leave them over night and the next day I am back in business. if you cant afford brand new ones, this is the way to go.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for working in a cubical setting, March 16, 2006

The RS100 Wireless Headphones have been a great and affordable solution to my issue of having my music headphones tied to a cord while at work. I enjoy the freedom of moving around my cube and office without missing my favorite talk or music.

On the downside, the headphone design is not the greatest. The set does tend to slide around a little, the quality of material is only satisfactory, and the sound quality isn't to a level of a Bose. However for the price you are paying this has been a nice addition to my work day.
