Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com

Soulful singer and brilliant guitarist José Feliciano tackles the Latin classics--the timeless boleros that have produced so much haunting intrigue on the subject of romantic love, lost and rediscovered. From the lush opening ballad "Alma Mia" to the R&B-ish closer "Si Me Comprenderias," the CD hums with drama, tension, and revelation. We may be familiar with these evergreens, but Feliciano applies a new gloss and understanding to each. Not every tune connects, but the finest pieces more than compensate for any weaknesses. Highlights include the confessional "Cuando Te Toque Llorar," the exquisite "Rayito de Luna," and the anguished "Que Tristeza." Credit must be given to Feliciano's production team, which includes producer Rudy Perez and arrangers José Molina and Gary Lindsey. --Ramiro Burr

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice spanish album, August 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Senor Bolero (Audio CD)
This is surely one of the bests spanish album of Jose: nice voice and music many time in a new way. Unfortunately don't show very well the real great guitarist then is Jose and not ever the variety of songs are like in the past. But Jose is ever "the great and incredible" and We wait from much time an english world hit album how only Jose can do (with a decent label promotion in all world.... I pray You Polygram for this)

5.0 out of 5 stars A performer whose voice is well-suited to the material, May 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Senor Bolero (Audio CD)
Feliciano's voice is not as rich as Luis Miguel's but he uses it very well and this album is packed with terrific songs. His guitar playing is superlative.

This review is from: Senor Bolero (Audio CD)
I have never been a huge fan of Jose Feliciano but this product is of a quality that you will bargain and win. The song, the melody, the interpreter Jose wow! one of a kind. Senor Bolero will invite you to listen to the first song and you won't stop until you have delited yourself with the whole product, then you will listen to it over and over again.
