needs justice, not teaching them crime can pay if they runaway,
This review is from: Singing Sensation (Geronimo Stilton, No. 39) (Paperback)
I am glad I read this book to my kid (I enjoy knowing what these books teach). Most of the time these books are okay (some of the characters are rude to each other, but the educational tidbits help counteract that negative). However in this book *spoiler alert*, the pirates who pirated tons of CDs simply escape and run away on their boat, and Stilton puts their pictures in his newspaper (which kind of glorifies their infamy). I prefer Scooby Doo type endings, the bad guy goes to jail. Kids should get the message that crime doesn't pay, not that if they run away that's good enough. We are used to Scooby Doo mysteries so we were surprised the pirates didn't really get caught. I hope in future books they are caught, even if they get out later at least they are teaching where criminals go in real life. Kids should learn that before they start copying the bad guys who are getting infamy

Have you ever read about crazy Geronimo Stilton? In each book a mouse named Geronimo Stilton has a mystery. In Singing Sensation Geronimo gets an opportunity to sing on Mouse Island Idol! But the chance was a surprise. He would rather stay home listening to music while eating a chocolate cheese cup cake. And somebody or something has been stealing CD's and copying them on the internet! So he teams up with an amazing detective named Hercules Poirat. My favorite part is when the crowd went nuts for Geronimo's singing because he thought he couldn't do it. I like this series because it's like a parallel universe ... New Mouse City [New York City,] San Mouscisco [San Francisco,] Mouse Central Station [Grand Central Station,] Mouse Island Idol [American Idol.] I think that Geronimo always gets stuck solving a mystery - and I'm glad he does!

My granddaughters love this series & this book had them wrapped into reading it and I was able to quiz them on the story. They are both under 13 so they cannot rate for you so my humble comments in their stead tell you to do you grand children a service and start them with this series.
