Book Description

June 3, 1999
Deep in the Cheshire countryside, a converted 18th century barn goes on the market. But the exclusive development of Cholmford Hall Mews doesn't just offer the opportunity to live in splendid isolation. It offers Jessica Lloyd, a romantic novelist, the chance to recover from a past-its-sell-by-date love affair as well as satisfy her need for a sense of belonging. For Kate Morris, it represents a fresh start; a home where her love for recently divorced Alec - a man much older than herself - can flourish. Amanda Fergusson, on the other hand, isn't interested in love. Her marriage to Tony is one of straightforward convenience and, with an eye for getting the most out of her situation, she soon finds herself going to extraordinary lengths to do exactly that. But for Josh Crawford, life is anything but straightforward. Young, attractive and successful, used to living life to the full, he's now battling to come to terms with a debilitating illness and views his new home as a place of sanctuary. Will the new residents of Cholmford Hall Mews find what they're searching for? Or will they find something else ...something they hadn't bargained on?

Editorial Reviews

Review

'This is a sharply observed, tender comedy of love and life. Jenny Agutter reads with humour and warmth... A real treat.' -- Victoria Kingston SURREY COUNTY MAGAZINE
