4.0 out of 5 stars Identifying Love, August 12, 2009
This review is from: Sense of Love (Paperback)
No two people love the same. When you experience a love lost, whether through death or divorce, overcoming the loss can still be very challenging. Trying to move on too soon can be devastating to the next relationship. How soon is too soon? And how do you know when you are really in love? In Sense of Love by Sheryl Mallory-Johnson, Pat and Steve will try to figure out these questions for themselves from the day they meet until the day they realize the answers.

When Steve and Pat met, one played a little hard to get while the other was a pursuer taking no for an answer. There was something said that blew out the pursuer's sails. Maybe it was at this time that they should have left well enough alone and moved on, but when they see each other again, on the campus, where Steve taught and Pat was a student, the interest in each other resurfaced. Their romance was like a whirlwind, and before long major decisions were being made altering the lives of everyone involved, including Pat's two teenagers and Steve's daughter from their respective previous marriages. When the winds calm, will everyone have their hearts intact? Or, will there be feelings of remorse and regret from yet another love lost?

Pat reminds me of women I know in real life. They have been through some things, and in order to make the best of their lives, they return to try to accomplish a major goal in their life. Steve is a man, who is sensitive and caring, but he knows what he wants, how he wants it and if he cannot have it his way, well the conversation is over. I enjoyed reading about these characters becoming aware of their issues in order to move on. I recommend Sense of Love to readers of romance and contemporary fiction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sense of Love helps us to get a better sense of who we are, July 13, 2009
This review is from: Sense of Love (Paperback)
Sheryl Mallory-Johnson's novel SENSE OF LOVE gives us a well-crafted story that allows us into the way men and women balance relationships and the everyday activities of their life. Giving readers characters that are well developed yet personally flawed, the author paints a picture of why it is difficult for some to open their hearts to others, and the consequences of doing so without thought.

Constructed as a discussion piece for both sexes, there is no way you can say your life is not changed by the storyline given in Sense of Love. Definitely a page-turner worthy of your consideration and referral.

This review is from: Sense of Love (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! Before I knew it I had read the first 28 chapters and had to stop myself. It's definitely captures your interest with it's believable characters. The ending leaves me wanting to see a sequel so I can know for sure what happens, although that might ruin it. Sheryl you are a true talent! Waiting on the next one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Love has it's "Sense's", February 23, 2010
This review is from: Sense of Love (Paperback)
Sheryl Mallory-Johnson has created this amazing love story that takes you into places that you or somebody you know has been before. In the "Sense of Love" you find yourself wanting to jump into the pages of this book and take charge and make decisions for the characters that you have ultimately fallen in love with. Steve and Pat have a longing for this "Sense of Love" that they know exsist, but, the question is: can they truly find it in each other. The ending of this book will make you dig deep into your "love cavity" and having you wanting pull out all of the "icky" stuff that's in there.

Sheryl Mallory-Johnson did a fabulous job with this novel and I would encourage all of the Contemporaray Fiction lovers to pick this one up, you will not be disappointed.

A Sense of Love, was beautifully written. From its very first chapter, I found difficulty in putting it down. Its literary flow was addicting and I must admit that I gave in to the addiction and spent one entire day reading this gifted authors words. From page(1)to page(274) my literary senses were thoroughly intrigued. I look forward to all future work from Sheryl Mallory-Johnson.
