I have tried them all...all the brands on Amazon, that is. Some have been less than thrilling and some pretty good. The Senseo Espresso Coffee Pods are the best I have found. You can make a great cup of coffee...I wouldn't really call it espresso with the convenience of a pod. I read a tip somewhere on Amazon about wetting both sides of the pod and it was the best tip I got in 2008. The resulting coffee is rich and full flavored, without bitterness. I think I will stick with Senseo Espresso. I did not use the special espresso pod, just the usual one pod holder, and it worked fine.

From all the original Senseo Coffee Pods, I like this variety best.I follow the rules and prepare it using the Senseo HD7003 Espresso Pod Holder - that means it will be a smaller cup (not really as little as an Italian Espresso shot), but you can always use your regular Pod Holder, if that is too strong for you. The prepared coffee has a nice Crema and great taste. In the morning I heat some milk in the microwave and whip it using an Aerolatte Frother to make a very quick Cappuccino - the way I like it :)

These pods are excellent. They are great hot or cold. I did not purchase the special pod holder; I believe the regular single pod is just fine.

Decent Espresso on the Cheap,

I enjoy my senseo so much more now that I have these pods. I had worked as a barista for 8 years and was having a hard time adjusting to life without free lattes. I certainly won't say that Senseo espresso by itself is in the same league as freshly ground, coffee shop espresso, but having the freedom to easily and cheaply make my favorite coffee drinks at home has been a Godsend. I usually mix two shot of Senseo espresso with a spoonful of Xylitol, a spoonful of Black and Green brand unsweetened cocoa powder, and a splash of half and half for a sugar-free mocha that tastes almost as good as one from coffee shop, but for about a quarter of the price. Try it!

I use one 'Espresso' on top of one 'Dark Roast' for a great cup of coffee.

The Senseo coffee maker produces excellent coffee provided one uses third party pods rather than Senseo pods. I strongly prefer Fratello, Millstone or Halo pods which seem to have richer, more robust flavors. The Senseo pods generally produce weak coffee, in part because they do not contain enough coffee. The above brands all fit in the Senseo maker despite containing more coffee in each pod. The Senseo Espresso pods are only ok, better than some Senseo pods.

I have tried many coffee pods...and these are the very best! I found that if you moisten the pods before you put them into the machine, the coffee tastes even better!

Great for Egg Nog Latte.. recipe,
By

At my Christmas dinner, one option is Egg Nog latte.Use one pod of espresso, press the button on the Senseo machine for a 'small' cup. Add 1/2 cup of egg nog, add 1/4 cup 2% milk, add 2-3 tsp of sugar. Heat to desired temp and stir to dissolve sugar. A dash of Nutmeg on top. It's close enough to Starbucks for me. :-)

I bought these pods on sale for the cheapest price ever, $3.83 per package!! They're shipped in the original Senseo 6-pack box, so they arrive in perfect condition. I'm a big fan of Senseo coffee, all varieties. It's the closest thing to the strong European coffee I get to drink once a year when I tavel to Belgium or the Netherlands on business.

Weak and bitter ... suggest Sumatra,

I don't know if the packs I had were old (although they are stamped 06 18 11 so it seems fresh enough) or poorly stored or if it was just the coffee, but I was very disappointed with the coffee it produces. It was weak, and bitter. And did not have the same sort of buttery texture that can be produced with Sumatra pods for example. I have an older model at home and the new model at work with an espresso holder. The newer model makes a slightly but noticeably better coffee. In neither case will you get an actual espresso but is a far cry better than drip coffee. So far I have found the Sumatra blend pods provide the best results for those who are trying to get the texture and flavor of espresso.
