5.0 out of 5 stars Handy.
Our Senseo came from Sam's and was packaged with one of these, but I imagine that if I had bought a model without it, we would have eventually bought one. As the directions suggest, we run a cup of water (no pod) through the Senseo when we first start it to get the parts warm and make the coffee come out hotter. It doesn't take long to run through a standard-sized tank...

3.0 out of 5 stars Essential but way overpriced
This tank is really essential if water is not available close to where you want to use the coffee maker and it works fine. Also much easier to fill than the regular tank because it will stand upright on its own. But it's way way too expensive for what you get.

Our Senseo came from Sam's and was packaged with one of these, but I imagine that if I had bought a model without it, we would have eventually bought one. As the directions suggest, we run a cup of water (no pod) through the Senseo when we first start it to get the parts warm and make the coffee come out hotter. It doesn't take long to run through a standard-sized tank of water if you're doing that each time you fire up the machine. The larger reservoir means fewer refillings, about once a day for us instead of two a day.

The downside is that it does make the machine about 3-4" deeper than it would be otherwise, and make it not quite as sleek-looking. It's still very snazzy, though, and I think the convenience is worth a few inches of countertop space.

added 11/30/04: It looks like the Sam's in my area will no longer be stocking the Senseo OR its coffee pods. It's all been relegated to the clearance corner...

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Product, August 24, 2005

I've been using "Extra Large Water Tank" for several months now, and I have to admit, it is convenient.

I use bottled water, so trying to fill the standard tank was an exercise in agility and coordination. The advantage of the larger tank, over standard, besides doubling the capacity, is that it stands on it's own on the counter. It's just a matter of opening the lid, and filling up the tank. The standard tank required balancing with one hand, while the other hand is maneuvering the water bottle.

In the beginning, I was a little skeptical about this product. For it's size, it is light, and felt a little flimsy. But, it has endured several months of daily use and, I no longer think of it as being fragile.

By the way, this product was a gift from my sister, and a very thoughtful gift indeed. I couldn't thank her enough.

Senseo rocks! The big tank is a bit of an extravagence in the sense that whether you are using the big tank or the small one, the coffee tastes the same. That said, being able to fill the tank every three or four days rather than each day is probably worth the $20.

12/13/05 Update: Still loving Senseo and still loving the tank. Without it, I suspect even average users will find that they have to refill the tank every one to two days (not a big deal in the abstract but when you're rushing out the door to get to work in the mornings, it's nice to minimize the "doh!" moments).

5.0 out of 5 stars It Really DOES Fit!, March 7, 2005

This review is from: Senseo HD7982 Extra-Large Water Tank for Single-Serve Pod Coffee Machines (Kitchen)
When I first tried to put the larger tank on the Senseo, it didn't fit. I was so disheartened! Then I read the description of it on Amazon again, and read that it fits ALL Senseo machines. To make a long story short, I tried it again and it DOES fit--you just have to put it lower in the groove than the smaller one. So...Buy it! You'll only have to refill it every other day and, if you're addicted to the foamy, delicious brew as I now am, you'll be glad you did. One more thing, if you buy this at the Senseo Web site, you might think you're saving money cause it's only $16.99. NOT! Buy 2 boxes of pods with it here on Amazon and the shipping will be free. At the Senseo Web site, they charge a minimum of $4.95 shipping, so it ends up costing more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does not work with Senseo Supreme, November 16, 2006

Although Amazon has the "Better Together" pairing this water tank with the Senseo Supreme, it does not fit into this updated machine.

Works great with the original Senseo. The description does say for the Senseo HD7810 model. Amazon should remove the "Better Together" pairing for the Senseo Supreme.

I am really enjoying the larger water tank for my Senseo. I have enough to make coffee for friends now, without constantly refilling the tank. And it will last me all day if I have no company. The tank is easier to fill than the original was because you have a hand-hold with this one. I would definitly recommend this to anyone who has the "Senseo Single Serve" pot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Large Tank works well, March 21, 2006
This review is from: Senseo HD7982 Extra-Large Water Tank for Single-Serve Pod Coffee Machines (Kitchen)
Purchased the large tank because the initial one cracked around the nozzel after it was dropped in the sink. Like the larger tank much better, as I need only fill it once a morning. It is additionally less likely to crack around the nozzel if dropped, as it has a reinforced edge along the bottom.
